ACAPULCO CUERPO y ALMA snippet 14- FINALE

Marcelo  immediately goes into hiding but kept taunting David over the phone about enjoying Humberto's money with Lorena and living happily ever after with her. 

During a business trip in Mexico City David's personal assistant Raul (egged on by Aide who was furious that David was still in love with Lorena) surprised him in his bedroom with a gun. David then realised that Lorena and Julia's warning was true but   hadn't  expected Raul  to be  a conspirator at all. 

A  very nervous Raul insisted he only wanted to kill him so that Aide would be free to marry him but David  said she was playing him for a patsy; she would go free and he would go to prison for murder! In despair, Raul fled the room.

Back in Acapulco, David confronts Aide about her plot to kill him and share his wealth with Marcelo, for Enrique and Irasema's murders and for breaking up his marriage to Lorena. The family tries to intervene as Aide denied his accusations but David angrily told them to back off, seizing Aide by the neck.

In Miami, Lorena was told by Power Girl about David's attempted murder  but declared if David came pleading she would send him away.

Ordering the guards to open the gates, David literally throws Aide out of the house with no luggage or money. Aide's mother is very angry at her daughter's true colours and disowns her.

Marcelo has another evil plan and this time it involved his mother Elena...

After confronting Aide for her lies and making him believe she loved him but in fact had been using him as a pawn and spy the whole time, Raul shoots her.
Aide is taken to the hospital and Raul is arrested. She promised to give the police her statement.

Lorena is informed about Aide but felt no sympathy for her. In jail, Raul begged his boss for his forgiveness. Julia answers the phone then passed it to Lorena, saying it was their father. But it was actually David who began to ask Lorena to forgive him. In anger, she hung up. (You accused a lady of cheating on you, you humiliated her now you want to reconcile with her over the phone??? Fool! )

One of the servants overheard Elena's conversation with Marcelo over the phone. After sending a guard to follow her, he called David to inform him. To Elena's dismay, Marcelo ordered her to be tied up!
Back at the mansion, the servant told David that the guard followed Elena to a house on the hills. David instructed him to call the police and direct them there.
David is dragged to Marcelo's presence. Marcelo, now totally demented, began a fist fight with David. While Marcelo was reeling from a punch, David untied Elena but then Marcelo grabbed him again. Overpowering him, Marcelo picked up a rock to bash David with. Elena begged him to put the rock down , pointing a gun at him. Marcelo does not heed her; daring her to shoot him, her own son. Putting down the gun, Elena rushed at him, trying to get the rock from him.
 'Let go of me!' he snarled, struggling with her and then... they both went over the balcony, falling several feet into the sea.  David screamed  in horror as Marcelo and poor Elena disappeared into the deep, dark water!

Lorena is  very sad about Mrs. Elena's death, vowing to pray for her before deciding to go back to Acapulco to have her baby there. Aide is  sentenced to serve time in prison.

Months later, Cinthia welcomes a very beautiful baby girl, naming her after her late step mother. Full of remorse, she urged David not to give up at getting Lorena back.
David visited Lorena at the hospital after their son is  born; with flowers and a very repentant heart. But Lorena is very cold, pointing out to him that if you truly loved someone, you never offended  them nor thought the worst  of them; she could not forgive him for hurting her so much.
Aide's mother and sister decided to go on a three month trip. Aide is very bitter they were leaving her to rot in jail.
David begged Lorena to think of their son. Lorena sneeringly reminded him that he had thought the baby was Marcelo's, before asking him to leave.

Oscar and Power Girl make their own plans- their house was being built  and Power Girl was now carrying their first child. They both hoped that  Lorena would find it in her heart to forgive David eventually.

On Lorena's  last day in Acapulco, Cinthia brings baby Elena to visit Lorena and meet her nephew. She asked for Lorena's forgiveness and begged her to give David the chance to make up for his great mistake. But Lorena was more than anxious to move on with her life, without David.

At the airport, David caught up with Lorena as she was about to board the plane, again begging and telling her that he loved her. 'Forgive me for being so stupid.' he pleaded.

But Lorena was resolute. Since they had met she'd been surrounded by lies and tricks but she had counted on his loyalty and he'd believed everyone except her. She loved him too but things couldn't be the same between them. Sadly, David watched her board the private plane and the door closed behind her.

Hours later, David is at home, staring at the setting sun, lonely and miserable. But then he hears footsteps behind him and there was Lorena; smiling at him, their baby in her arms. 'What are we going to do without you?' she asked. 'We couldn't go knowing that you need us as much as we need you.'

 HE'S  FORGIVEN!
Overjoyed, David walks up  to her. She hands the squirming  baby to him, smiling at him tenderly.
'I love you and I always will.' David said softly.
'I love you too.' Lorena replied, also softly. ' I want to stay in Acapulco with you forever.'

-Saul Lisazo, who played the main character David Montalvo  is not Mexican, but Argentinian and was 39 years old at the time this telenovela aired. 

-Patricia Manterola, who played Lorena Montalvo, sang the telenovela's theme song. 

 -The  mansion used as the Montalvo family home  was also used as the Stockdale family home  in the American remake of Tu O Nadie; ACAPULCO BAY

-Irasema, Enrique's mistress, was played by Sophia Vergara; who later on was a cast member in the American series 'Modern Family',  from 2009 to 2020, playing Jay Prichett's wife, Gloria.

Marcelo falls ill in prison; not used to such harsh conditions. Humberto apologises to Lorena- realising that she merely followed her heart so he could not hold it against her, he had been too hasty and anxious to win her. Aide's sister informed their mother about finding Aide in bed with Marcelo, which Aide loudly denied.
Marcelo gets paroled and stays in the mansion, to David's anger. He begs David to let him stay for a few days as he is very ill. David angrily agreed, not knowing his wife Aide was hiding behind an armchair.
David is furious to see Humberto who came to see him to put things right between David  and Lorena by telling him Lorena is still in love with him. But David is too angry to listen and tells him to leave, vowing that he would get his comeuppance soon for putting the moves on Lorena. Elena advises Marcelo to repent his evil ways; he really hurt her so she'd had no choice but to get him arrested.
Humberto is killed when his car explodes! (Marcelo's handiwork of course) A shaken Raul rushes into David's office to inform him. Lorena hears the terrible news from Oscar.

Aurelio, Lorena's father feels the explosion was an  accident but Lorena was sure it was murder and blames herself for Humberto's untimely death. As German knew too much and was now blackmailing him- Marcelo orders him to be killed too but he is rushed  to the hospital barely alive. When the police arrive, he gives his statement between gasps; about Marcelo's lie to Lorena and stealing David's identity and of Irasema and Enrique's murders...
Marcelo barged into Humberto's house- now Lorena's according to Humberto's  Will- to force himself on her but fortunately Power Girl arrives on time and he's thrown out. Oscar later called Power Girl to inform her that German was going to testify against Marcelo. Cinthia is devastated to hear from David about Enrique's death.
Disguised as a nurse, Aide sneaks into German's room and finishes him off.

Devastated that David had married the woman who wrecked their marriage, Lorena decided to agree to Humberto's proposal- she will move to Miami and marry him.
Marcelo causes more trouble in the office, informing David that Elena had signed over her shares of the company to him, But when she is questioned by Oscar, Elena said she did no such thing- how had Marcelo gotten hold of them?
At the airport, Lorena said goodbye to her father Aurelio and Julia, flying to Miami with Humberto. Elena angrily questioned Marcelo about the shares- he had found a way of stealing them! Oscar contacted David on his honeymoon with Aide in Madrid about the matter. Power Girl informed Lorena  over the phone about what Marcelo did and that Elena was very ill because of it. Lorena dreads her upcoming wedding.

After giving Marcelo a sound thrashing, David ordered Marcelo to be thrown out of the building. Elena cannot believe her own son would do such a thing to her. David advised her to take legal action against him.
David was very bitter when he heard from Oscar  Lorena is marrying his EX- best friend Humberto, wondering why Humberto would accept Marcelo's unborn child. Oscar reminded him that the baby was his but David angrily refused to hear that. Marcelo is shocked when the police come to arrest him for fraud; Elena had reported him to the authorities. David was very pleased that his stepmother took a stand for once.
Power Girl told Lorena about it and she too was pleased Elena decided to punish her son.
On her wedding day, Lorena is distressed and unhappy; all she could see was David's face as she walked up the aisle towards Humberto. And at the last minute, she picked up her full white skirts and ran away- SHE  COULDN'T GO THROUGH WITH IT! Power Girl and Julia tried to make her change her mind, reminding her David married Aide but she refused- she still loved David! Julia informed her that Aide and Marcelo were sleeping with each other behind David's back and were probably plotting against him.
In Acapulco, Elena consoled a weeping David who thought Lorena's wedding was going on at that moment. From her hiding place, Aide watched him cry over Lorena.
Humberto was very bitter to see that Lorena still wouldn't let go her love for a man who'd accused her of cheating on him; feeling sure she would regret her decision.
David later got a visit from Lorena (Oscar had told him she did not marry Humberto after all). They almost kiss but pull away at the last minute. David didn't want to hear what Lorena had to say, coldly  telling her not to speak ill of his wife. Exasperated and very hurt, Lorena walked out of his office.

Enrique resumed his affair with Irasema, not wanting his brother in law to have her. But then they are both murdered during a drive; Marcelo had ordered men to tamper with the brakes!
Full of remorse, Julia promised her sister that she will make things right. German is not in support of Marcelo harming Humberto as well- after all he'd gotten what he wanted at last; she and David were no longer together and there was no way she would ever go back to Marcelo but Marcelo angrily tells him to shut up.
David gets worried when Irasema does not answer his calls. Lorena, still in love with David, told Humberto she was not in love with him.
Cinthia is devastated when it appeared that Enrique had left her again and this time she was pregnant. Power Girl advised Lorena to move on with her life. David is furious to hear that Humberto is pursing Lorena, feeling sure she was encouraging him. In actual fact, Lorena was spending lonely nights thinking of her now ex-husband.
Julia went to David's office and made her confession but David felt Lorena told her to say all those things as he didn't think a young woman would actually do such things to her sister. To forget Lorena completely, David told Aide to arrange their wedding. Oscar congratulated him although he knew very well David was still in love with Lorena. Lorena is told by Power Girl and felt bitter but Power Girl assured her she would not attend the wedding even if Oscar did.
Julia told Marcelo's wife what really happened in New York, adding her own part
Lorena in turn gave Power Girl some shocking news, she is PREGNANT!
David flatly refused to believe the baby is his- to Power Girl and Oscar's horror. In anger, Power Girl shouted, 'You're the stupidest man I have ever met!'
Marcelo's wife caught her sister Aide and Marcelo in bed together and Aide had to beg Marcelo not to kill her sister.
Elena is overjoyed at the news of Lorena's pregnancy but is shocked by David's unfair and stubborn stand in the matter- he wanted nothing to do with it or Lorena (What AN IDIOT!!!)
David paid another visit to Lorena, asking if the baby was Marcelo's and out of anger and hurt that he would actually think such a thing she said yeah, it was! Aide is dismayed to hear from Cinthia that Lorena was pregnant, fearing that he would reconcile with her. So she paid a visit to Lorena's flat, telling her that David could care less about her baby. Lorena coldly told her to leave.
Humberto,on hearing the news, asked Lorena to marry him and allow him be the father of her baby.
David and Aide have a white wedding; Lorena watched from afar and cried bitterly before Power Girl gently led her away...

After the shock came the rage. In great fury David darted at Marcelo, grabbing him by the neck. 'Bastard!' He shouted. Lorena, now awake, watched in great confusion. Aide is very pleased with herself.
Lorena pleaded with David to listen to her; she would never, ever cheat on him.. she got drunk and Aide helped her to bed, that's all! Marcelo shamelessly begged David to forgive them both, it was out of love they had slept together all this time, Lorena screamed at him to shut the hell up- she never slept with him! David beat up Marcelo, calling him trash, Marcelo retorted that he could do and say what he liked to him but he'll never take Lorena from him- she loved him, not David. Furious, David threw him out before turning on Lorena; accusing her of being a liar and a hypocrite. Lorena wept bitterly, pleading with him to believe her, she loved him... only him but he does not listen to her. Marcelo's wife is shocked to see his nose bleeding.
Power Girl hurries into the room to console Lorena who is crying; unable to understand what had happened and why her husband refused to believe her.
At the bar, Oscar warned David not to rush things; there had to be a good explanation for what he'd seen but David was too angry and sad to pay attention. Lorena was his first love and she had betrayed him, he couldn't stay married to him. Upstairs, he tells Lorena in front of everyone that their marriage was definitely over. Very angry and hurt, Lorena accepted her fate but warned him he would be be sorry he ever thought such a thing about her.
Back in Acapulco, though she tried hard to deny it; Julia got a terrible scolding from an angry Lorena for helping Marcelo ruin her marriage- declaring she'll never forgive her. Marcelo gloats over the success of his plan; Aide meanwhile gives a very depressed  David her sympathy. Elena on the other hand does not believe Lorena is guilty.
To Aide's anger, David begins to date Enrique's girlfriend- Irasema- instead of her.
Elena paid Lorena a visit at her father's house; Lorena protested that she was innocent and Elena should know; thanks to the conversation she had heard, he and that bitch Aide had set her up. David also visited Lorena and it ends bitterly; Lorena was going ahead with the divorce and so was he. She wept as the door slammed behind him.
Elena angrily confronted Marcelo for what he did- she knew very well that Lorena would never cheat David, Marcelo tried to deny it but she knew he was lying. It still didn't help as David stubbornly refused to believe Lorena.
Marcelo went to David's office to deliberately provoke him and they engage in a fierce fight.
Enrique overheard Aide and Cinthia talking about David and Irasema; invoking his jealousy.
Lorena is very surprised to see Humberto again when he visits her father's bar. Humberto has his own agenda, now that Lorena was free; he could now pursue her.
Aide and Marcelo discuss getting rid of Irasema- she was an unexpected obstacle to her hopeful marriage to David. Meanwhile, Humberto told Lorena that he wanted to be more than friends with her...

Meanwhile, Aide and Marcelo carefully hatch out their plan of separating the happy couple. Aide had heard from her spy Raul that David was travelling to the States on a business trip and he was taking Lorena along. Marcelo enlists the help of Lorena's sister Julia who was still very resentful towards David and Lorena for making her earn her keep instead of giving her a hefty monthly allowance. Julia does not see how he will be able to convince David that Lorena was cheating on him when she was so crazy about him and vice versa. Besides, Lorena hated Marcelo. Aide persuades her Mom and sister to go to New York with her and Marcelo; her mum is puzzled that Aide seemed so anxious to go on the trip. Lorena's despicable sister agreed to help Marcelo ruin her sister's marriage as she felt that if she remained on their side, she won't get anything. (WHAT A BITCH) Marcelo is very pleased, naturally and begins his evil plan. And unsuspecting Raul gives Aide David's business schedule- when he arrived in New York, he will head to Toronto for a whole day. Meanwhile, Julia plants Marcelo's hairbrush and gold chain in David and Lorena's bedroom. While dressing for Marcelo's wedding, David saw and recognized the chain as he had given it to Marcelo on his birthday years ago. Marcelo denies putting the chain there or having anything with Lorena; urging David not to make a scene on his wedding day. That night, David and Lorena make passionate love as always; assuring each other of their love.
Enrinque- Cinthia's husband returns to her, to her joy.

David and Lorena arrive in New York; David kissing Lorena goodbye at the hotel before leaving for Toronto with Raul and Oscar. Aide is very anxious for the plan to work...
Elena and Lorena go shopping with Power Girl and Aide's mother and on their return are joined by Marcelo, his wife and Aide. Lorena got a phone call from David that he might not come back that night but tomorrow; to Aide's dismay. Meanwhile, David urges Raul to wrap everything up so he'l head back to New York early and be with Lorena. To Aide's relief, Raul informed her of this. Time for the plan...
All the women are tipsy from the drinks, but Lorena is really drunk, thanks to Aide' continuous filling of her glass. Aide helps Lorena to bed and then begins to take off her shoes and white pants suit...
Marcelo then entered  and cuddles close to a comatose Lorena!
Anticipating his wife's joy at his return, David goes into the suite and finds Marcelo and his beloved wife entwined in bed...

Elena was shocked at what she'd just heard and the stunned, guilty look on Marcelo's face confirmed all was true. Lorena on the other hand looked dismayed. Elena berated him for his lies, for his misdeeds including making her believe Lorena was a liar- she was very disappointed in him. Casting an apologetic look at her daughter-in-law, she abruptly left the room, sobbing. Marcelo glared at Lorena, furious. Later on, Lorena told David what happened, feeling sorry for Elena; David in turn told her that their best friends Oscar & Power Girl were now officially a couple, to her delight. Elena and Marcelo get a surprise visitor... Marcelo's father! Elena had told Marcelo he was dead but in actual fact; Marcelo's Dad had abandoned them both so Elena had divorced him. Marcelo is very cold towards him.
Humberto, a good friend of David's- arrives to Acapulco on business and David proudly introduced Lorena to him as well as Julia. While taking a walk, David told Humberto what's been going on with Marcelo, adding he was still investigating and Marcelo had begged for another chance. Cinthia is currently unhappy; she's pregnant and alone. Aide begins her plan by first  'apologising ' to an incredulous Lorena and then seducing Raul, David's personal assistant as she needed a spy.

 David and Lorena live their love everyday and Elena is warmer towards her daughter-in-law. Marcelo decided to court and marry Aide's younger sister in order to distract everyone's attention from him.  Humberto is rather attentive towards Lorena, which makes her very uncomfortable. Elena begins to plan David and Lorena's church wedding; including hiring a  top designer to make Lorena's dress.
Humberto confessed to Lorena that he's fallen in love with her; to her amazement and horror. She reminds him she's married and in love with David! Unfortunately, Humberto was overheard by Cinthia and Aide who later told David. David is very angry that his best friend would throw himself at his wife and told him to leave his house. Lorena assured David that in no way did she encourage Humberto and David in return said he believed her; he just never thought someone else would want to draw them apart. The clothes come off again and there's no more talking.

On getting home with Aurelio, David and Lorena walk in on a party going on; a celebratory party for Aide on her upcoming wedding. She is very shocked to see Lorena on David's arm and naturally demanded an explanation; Elena, Cinthia and Sophie, Aide's mother included. David calmly told them that Lorena was his wife again. Aide flew at Lorena in great fury but David pushed her away from his wife, sternly telling her to behave herself. Elena called him aside, telling him he did wrong hurting Aide and refused to believe what he told her about Marcelo. Aide poured insults on David and Lorena before leaving the house with her mother and sister in tears. David consoled an unhappy Lorena, cuddling close her in their bed as they go to sleep; her diamond wedding ring flashing on her finger.
Cinthia and Aide later warned Lorena that they were going to make life very unpleasant for her. Lorena coldly tells them she wasn't scared of them- Cinthia is furious when Lorena throws her own marital problems in her face. Elena is cold towards Lorena as well, to her distress. David assured Lorena that Julia was welcome back to their house; however they both agree not to let Julia live off them, she was going to be given a job instead. Lorena is not at all pleased to see Marcelo who still feeds his mother with lies and has the audacity to extend the hand of friendship to Lorena, according to him he wanted nothing but peace between them(Yeah right)
Lorena finds Julia at German's. Julia is stunned that Lorena is ready to forgive her but is furious at David and Lorena's decision- she was to work with Power Girl selling condos at David's hotel.
Marcelo cornered Lorena on getting home; Lorena is hostile towards him, demanding that he tell his mother the truth about what he tried to do to David and how he almost raped her. He insisted that he did but Elena didn't believe him. Alas, Elena was by the door and heard the whole conversation! Marcelo stared at her in horror and started choking like a caught fish...

After a wonderful night of lovemaking  and a heartfelt talk, David & Lorena returned  home; arm in arm and grinning all over their faces. Marcelo appeared as they kiss, his face as black as thunder. He interrupted them by coldly asking if they had fun. David, letting go of Lorena confirmed that they did. He also (unwisely) added he was grateful to Marcelo for what he did for him- he was very much in love with the woman Marcelo 'chose' for him and he was definitely going to keep her with him. Enraged, Marcelo punched him in the stomach and the two men begin to fight. Lorena screamed for help  and everyone ran out. Elena pleaded with Marcelo when he suddenly pulled out a gun, which was wrestled from him. Elena demanded to know why Marcelo attacked David; he yelled that it was because he hated him. David in turn told everyone the truth; everything Lorena had told him. Horrified that Lorena had split on him after all, Marcelo denied everything; accusing Lorena of wanting to ruin him. Julia backed up her sister but Cinthia advised David not to listen to them. David is far more angry that Marcelo had used Lorena as a pawn and three of his associates had died in the crash. Filled with shock, Elena suddenly fainted and she's carried in. 

In the evening, David found Lorena at the pool. He stunned her by saying that though he loved her, he still had  nagging doubts about her since she'd been Marcelo's girlfriend and a relationship couldn't really work if there wasn't complete trust. Lorena's face clouded with sadness and hurt at his words. Marcelo tried to convince Aide that Lorena was the one who tried to kill David; not him. Lorena coldly agreed it was no point staying married to him if he still doubted her, therefore she will go home in the morning and he should arrange for a divorce with his lawyer. In the morning, Aide taunts Lorena as she and Julia leave but gets a nasty surprise when Lorena slapped her and viciously pulled her hair. 'I hope you never come back, you witch!' she screamed as the taxi drove away. Marcelo still lies to his mother about his non involvement in the matter. Aide and David have dinner days later and she pleads that they resume their relationship, she wanted the chance to make him happy. He agreed (fool). 

Back in Lorena's town; Marcelo forced his way into her house when she's alone, pined her down and is about to rape her (as revenge for denying him and sleeping with David instead). However her best friend, Power Girl(Clarita) runs in, grabs a bottle and smashes it on Marcelo's head. Shielding Lorena with her body, she tells him to leave or she will kill him. As soon as he left, the two young women lock the door, piling it with furniture. David resumes his relationship with Aide, though he sorely misses Lorena. 

Aurelio, Lorena's Dad is distressed at what almost happened to his daughter. Aurelio later made a phone call to David, telling him what happened. Filled with rage, David sort Marcelo out- warning him to stay away from Lorena. 

Lorena bitterly welcomes Oscar when he arrives to start the proceedings; he has the papers with him for her to sign. She made it clear that she wanted nothing from David while Oscar assured her he had nothing personal against her. Lorena is upset she'd allowed David to make love to her when he didn't trust her. Power Girl walks up to them and Lorena introduces her to Oscar. Oscar takes one look at the tall and pretty honey blonde and she stares back... 

Some time pass and David and Lorena's divorce is processed. Aide persuades David to marry her. Elena is happy and plans a big celebration. David is clearly not happy. 

Julia and Marcelo's henchman, German, still communicate; Julia agrees to move in with him at Acapulco - not wanting to work at the bar anymore. When Lorena annoys her, Julia spitefully passes her some info German had given her, David was getting married to Aide. Lorena cried herself to sleep that night. 

Oscar knows very well David didn't really want to marry Aide. 

Marcelo went to the bar and attacked Lorena in broad daylight; trying to carry her off but the customers and neighbours intervene. 

Oscar and Power Girl run into each other again at one of David's hotels where she works as a sales rep. Lorena and Aurelio and their witnesses report Marcelo to the police and he is immediately arrested, to his chagrin. In the cell, he darkly vowed to make her pay. He told German to tell his mother to get a good lawyer for him. Elena gets the message and tells David. 

Lorena is very surprised when David shows up at the bar. She doesn't want to talk to him but he insisted. At the station, Oscar doesn't believe a word Marcelo tells him especially since there were many witnesses who say what he tried to do to Lorena. 

David asked Lorena to forgive him for being so unfair to her but Lorena is too angry and hurt to listen; certain he still believed the worst of her, pointing out he found comfort in Aide. Lorena allowed him to kiss her but then pulled away. She told him not to bother her since he was now with Aide; she never wanted to see him again. And by asking her to drop the charges- he was harming her. Oscar feels what could save Marcelo is Lorena dropping the charges against him. 

Later on, David has an angry talk with Marcelo. He'll convince Lorena to drop the charges but in exchange he must leave the country and not interfere with him and Lorena again. Marcelo sulkily agreed. 

Lorena and David talk things out again. Lorena is enraged when David tells her Julia informed him she and Marcelo have been together after she left Acapulco, over the phone. Aurelio is happy to hear they're back together but Julia is cold and resentful. Lorena confronts her over her lies. Julia angrily denies it but their father- shocked- calls her a disgrace. Julia is still unrepentant.

The couple later have dinner at his hotel. When Lorena mentions  Aide, he brushed it off; telling her he will inform Aide it's over. Then he stunned Lorena with the question, 'will you marry me?' adding she was really the one he wanted to share his life with. 

Lorena stared at him, stunned, yet happy. 'I do.' she whispered and they kiss. Taking her upstairs, they make love again...

David and Lorena's wedding  is a simple civil ceremony; the bride in a pale blue dress. 

Oscar is the best man and Power Girl the maid of honour, but Julia (more like Judas) is not there. After David signed his name on the marriage register, he turned to Lorena with a loving smile saying; 'Lorena, my wife.' before kissing her to a round of applause by the guests.

At the office; David tries to make Marcelo confess his crime. Cinthia and Aide bully Lorena; Aide slaps Lorena, causing her to fall into the swimming pool. Oscar points out that David acted hastily, he doesn't have evidence yet. David said he'll talk to Elena about it but after he's able to clear Lorena. He admits he's now in love with her and if she's innocent as he believed; he didn't want to lose her.
Back home; Lorena, Aurelio and Julia tell him what Cinthia and Aide did. David tells the two women to treat his wife with respect from now on, or else. They storm out in anger.
In her room, Lorena and David confess their love for each other; exchanging kisses. David told Lorena to think about nothing but them from now on. Lorena is very happy that David loves her. Later that night, David an Lorena go on another date; this time dinner at the yacht to celebrate the new phase of their relationship.
Elena asked Marcelo why he's been so weird around Lorena and he tells a lie; that he had dated Lorena but David had snatched her from him; just like he'd stolen a lot of things from him, including Elena's affection.
Lorena is surprised to learn that their marriage is valid after all. Elena is confused by all Marcelo tells her and said she was going to bed to rest; they'll continue talking tomorrow. As she went to the door, Marcelo asked, 'Where's David and Lorena?'
'They went on a trip in the boat.' was the answer. Marcelo is furious!
Lorena is very shy as David leads her to the master stateroom; locking the door behind them. He kindly tells her not to be scared when he sees the nervous expression on her face. They kiss and kiss some more. David takes off Lorena's white top...

Marcelo enters his room; shaking with rage. At the yacht, Lorena and David get naked and climb under the sheets.
Marcelo begins to smash things in his room to let out his anger; paintings, vases, candlesticks...

David and Lorena make love with wild abandon...
Marcelo smashes more things...(like that will stop them from doing what they were doing)
David and Lorena continue to consummate their love; too far away for Marcelo to disturb them...
Marcelo lays alone in his bed, weeping with anger.
David and Lorena cuddle in each other's arms afterwards...

Enrique and Cinthia fight over their marriage. Marcelo is furious with Lorena for kissing David. Lorena protested she had to; but Marcelo disagreed- she'd kissed David because she wanted to; he didn't force her at all. He warned her not to betray him as she still belonged to him. But Lorena proudly stood her ground; she belonged to NO ONE! Marcelo demanded that she asked David for a divorce; that she should tell him she hated him. (Like that will be easy; it's obvious Lorena is already attracted to David and vice versa). Enrique sees them arguing and tells David.
Cinthia and David argue over money she's been spending a lot lately. Cinthia callously remarked that maybe things would have been better if he HAD died. She takes out her anger on Lorena, sarcastically pointing out Lorena's simple dress- 'still dressed like a beggar.' Didn't David buy her new clothes?
Lorena calmly told her to mind her own business. Cinthia warned her she'll have a very difficult time as she had no place in the house but Lorena is thickskinned; the remarks don't bother her. Cinthia went on to call her a vulgar woman who had cast a spell on her brother, which was her speciality. Furious- Lorena slapped her on the cheek. Before Cinthia could retaliate, David appeared. 'Lorena, come here.' Lorena followed him to his study. He wants them to take a trip to her town; she's uneasy again but agreed.
They arrive at her house; David meets Aurelio and his suspicion mounts when Aurelio introduced himself; since they supposedly knew each other already.

Back in Acapulco, German asks Julia out and they talk about Marcelo who is upset Lorena is leaning towards David every day. Julia pointed out that Marcelo had lied to her sister so he deserved it and she too is certain he was behind the accident.
Lorena wants to tell David the truth as he's been very kind to her but is scared of Marcelo. Marcelo wants Julia on his side.
Lorena tells her best friend Clarita(who was told the whole story by Aurelio) that she was falling in love with David...
David suddenly remembers the events BEFORE the accident. He and Lorena return with Aurelio and Elena warmly welcomes him. Oscar is told by David that he truly didn't know Lorena and her family and the man who had rented the apartment as David fits Marcelo's description. He was now sure Marcelo planned to kill him...
Later that night, David and Lorena take a walk at the beach; talking. Lorena tells him about Clarita, he in turn tells her about Oscar. When she talks about honesty between friends, David urges her to take off her disguise and tell him who she really was. Lorena runs to the water upset and David goes after her; afraid she might hurt herself. Lorena breaks down in tears and confesses all...
Julia wants Aurelio to make Lorena stay with David but Aurelio feels David should be told the truth. At the beach;  David holds Lorena in his arms as she tells the whole story; pleading his forgiveness. David is shocked and furious that Marcelo would use Lorena like that. Lorena suggest they get a divorce, she was tired of the intrigue and lies.
'Do you want to leave?' David asked, looking deep in her eyes. Lorena stares back at him.
Marcelo accuses David of always finding ways of humiliating him as David has given instructions to the staff that Marcelo can't lift a finger without he or  Oscar's say; once again Elena defends David.
At the beach,  David consoles Lorena; kissing her on the forehead, still holding her. Lorena asked 'What will we do, David?'
David said she was not to tell anyone he now knew the truth; he will force Marcelo to confess. As for them. they'll continue being close and work on their relationship.

David is rushed to the hospital and he doesn't remember the events before the crash. Oscar said that his wife has gotten over the shock and wants to see him.
'Who?' asked David.
'Lorena, of course.'
David, naturally, is VERY confused.
Lorena and Julia don't know what to do; Marcelo might carry out his threat of murdering them if they told David or Elena what happened. Lorena wondered how on earth could she have fallen for a man like Marcelo.
Marcelo on the other hand wondered why David hasn't denied Lorena as his wife but planned to frame Lorena if David does make an accusation. Lorena goes to see David and the conversation is awkward. Marcelo barges in and tries to get Lorena out of the room but David insisted she stay.
David is more baffled at the photo of him and Lorena (doctored); even if he couldn't remember their wedding at least he would remember a beautiful lady like her being in his life. German and Marcelo talk; Marcelo is very uneasy at the way David accepted that Lorena is his wife.
David voiced his suspicion to Oscar- that the accident was NO accident!
David invites Lorena out to dinner; smiling warmly at her when she appeared in a beautiful halter neck dress- one the dresses he'd ordered for her. Marcelo is not pleased and yells at Julia when she suggests that Lorena should keep posing as David's wife.
At the restaurant; Lorena is relaxed around David who is enchanted and amused by her, in spite of himself; remarking she had beautiful eyes and hair. When they arrived home later, he offered her a necklace as a present but she refused to accept it. David suddenly pulled her to him and they exchanged a very passionate kiss. Marcelo balefully watch as  they cling to each other...

Business finally done, David phones German, asking where Marcelo was and is exasperated when informed Marcelo was no where to be found. He tells German he was heading back to Acapulco with his secretary; Marcelo will have to go home himself. David, his secretary and pilot go into the helicopter and it takes off.

As Marcelo and Lorena celebrate; something comes loose and the helicopter flies strangely. David is flung out and falls several feet; the helicopter crash lands; killing the pilot and David's secretary.
Lorena gently reminds Marcelo they'd agreed not to have sex until after the church wedding when he tries to get amorous. He receives a call from German confirming 'everything went according to plan'.Hanging up, he tells Lorena that he was being summoned back to the office in Acapulco.
At the Montalvo mansion, David's younger sister Cinthia complains to Elena that David was too much of a workaholic. Marcelo comes back alone, telling the 2 women that he and David argued again. David's lawyer and best friend Oscar arrives; looking worried and calls Marcelo aside. Cinthia talks with  David's blonde girlfriend Aide, who is confident they'll announce their engagement soon.
Oscar is very worried that David isn't back yet. Marcelo 'receives' a call about the 'accident' and tells Oscar about it. As Oscar weeps, Marcelo tries to hide his glee. (BASTARD!)

Marcelo breaks the news to Elena, Cinthia and Aide; who cry in anguish as well- Cinthia rushes off to inform her husband Enrique.
Later, Marcelo shows Elena the marriage certificate and a photo of Lorena  he'd 'found' in David's room. Elena is surprised David had married in secret to someone he never spoke of but agreed to call her; her number was in David's address book (put there by Marcelo of course). Lorena's amazement at the call from Elena turns to devastation at the news of 'David's' death.

She and Lorena arrive at Acapulco; Julia is amazed and impressed by the mansion while poor Lorena is very confused. Elena welcomed them both. Lorena still doesn't understand; Davis had told her he had no family, which puzzles Elena as well but explained that she was David's stepmother and she had another son, Marcelo who was away; investigating the accident. (Yeah, right) Lorena sobbed, unable to accept that David was dead.

Cinthia hopes Aide won't make a spectacle of herself at the the memorial service; she was of course pissed off that David had 'cheated' on her. Elena comes out with Lorena and Julia and introduced them to Cinthia and Enrique. Cinthia looked disdainfully at their simple dresses.
In Zithuatanejo; Lorena's father is amazed when Marcelo appeared and tells him the truth about himself- blackmailing him to keep quiet.
Cinthia is furious Marcelo didn't come to the memorial service. Enrique is resentful David had married before he died as Cinthia was deprived of inheriting; Lorena was the heiress instead.
Meanwhile, a very injured David was being tended to by two men who had found him!
Lorena gets the shock of her life when 'David' wakes her up from sleep; he prevents her from screaming.

Elena defends Lorena when Cinthia and Enrique say disdainful things about her.
In the garden, Lorena is horrified when Marcelo tells he he isn't David and refuses to let everyone keep believing she's David's widow. Marcelo hotly denies being behind the accident when she accused him.
David promised to reward his rescuers if they take him home; throwing in his gold watch in addition. (VERY tacky to accept money for saving a life by the way)
'You killed him, didn't you?' Lorena shouted at Marcelo. He said he didn't but admitted he'd always wanted David's money and that he and Lorena can enjoy it once they married proper. But Lorena refused to go with such a plan, neither can she forgive him for lying to her.

In the morning, Lorena is prepared to go back to her town but Marcelo stopped her; warning her that no one messed with him; her Papa, Aurellio and Julia will be killed if she didn't cooperate.
At the gates; a van arrives, with David, wounded and bleeding! The amazed guards help him into the house; calling for Elena. Lorena and Marcelo are shocked; Marcelo hurries to David as he's led into the living room. David sees the beautiful stranger staring at him. 'Who are you?' he asked, before passing out...

Long before I created this blog; I found out my favourite telenovela , TU O NADIE was remade twice in 1995; Acapulco Bay & Acapulco Cuerpo y Alma (Acapulco Body and Soul). At first I thought Acapulco Cuerpo y Alma  was the second  remake  but according to one of the actors of Acapulco Bay  after I commented on Facebook that both remakes were shot in the same house; it was released after Acapulco Bay . So now... I'm sharing  it in this blog. B y the way, each snippet is made up of episodes, not one. 

 Zithuatanejo, 1995.

 A beautiful young woman runs across the street laughing gaily and  holding a package; her shiny black hair flying in the breeze. This is the heroine- Lorena Garcia and she's on her way back from the tailor's with her wedding dress. Waiting for her at their father's beach restaurant & bar is her younger sister, Julia who isn't pleased Lorena is late but Lorena is too happy to care; she holds up her pink flowery dress for Julia's inspection. 


Acapulco. Marcelo de Maris, who's been passing himself off as someone else to Lorena is scolded by his stepbrother for unauthorised purchase of land in Zithuatanejo. His stepbrother is a handsome man; late 30s or early 40s- David Montalvo; the hero of this  story. 

Back in Zithuatanejo; Julia remarks to Lorena that it's strange 'David' doesn't want a reception nor was he inviting his friends to the wedding. Lorena reminds Julia that David has no family and they'll have a huge party when they do the church wedding. (Poor Lorena!) Julia is obviously jealous of Lorena's upcoming wedding as Lorena won't be working in the bar after that. 
Back in Acapulco, Marcelo's Mum and David's stepmother, Elena Montalv, asked Marcelo if he'd talked with his brother. Marcelo snappishly reminds her David is NOT his brother and they hated each other. Actually he's very resentful that the late Mr. Montalvo had left David everything (his resentment is not justified as David is a Montalvo while he isn't, besides that- David's father had left him a huge trust fund & a permanent position in the company).

 David and Marcelo later travel to Zithuatanejo to deal the purchase Marcelo had made without David's permission. While David is handling business matters, Marcelo sneaks off to marry Lorena in a civil ceremony. (As David's name and signature is in the marriage certificate, she's NOT really married to Marcelo). Meanwhile, the helicopter David arrived in is being sabotaged by German; Marcelo's henchman.
