WHO COULD PLAY BO NEXT? : SUITABLE CANDIDATES

Some people who left comments in my previous post, WHO COULD PLAY BO BRADY NEXT? and some Carbo fans on Twitter and Facebook are divided over the above question, but the most insistent opinion is that only Peter Reckell can play this memorable character. But for how long can DAYS keep Bo 'abroad on some mission, and Ciara painfully pining for her Daddy? To be honest, if Bo should resurface, I want Carly Manning to be on his arm; their story was ended unfairly, and I want it revived- then I will watch DAYS again.

But for now, one of DAYS' most popular characters is sorely missed, and this 'absent Bo' thing has to stop. I know most people don't want a recast, but once again, let's not forget that there was a Bo Brady recast years ago, Robert Kelker Kelly; so if they could get a recast back then, they could do so again. Maybe when Robert is done terrifying Laura and Lulu in General Hospital, DAYS can recall him back to Salem!

My first possible was Lorenzo Lamas (Renegade, The Bold and the Beautiful), but later on I thought about my favourite actor in  Desperate Housewives - James Denton, who also played the sinister Mr Lyle in The Pretender. I can really see him as Bo!

The fans who agreed DAYS should have a recast mostly rooted for  Robert Newman, who played  Josh Lewis in Guiding Light. Hmm... actually, yes, I can see him take on the role as well, with his long experience in acting (Guiding Light, General Hospital, Santa Barbara) and his somewhat resemblance to Peter Reckell, he's definitely suitable!

A visitor here left an interesting suggestion for a recast: James Hyde, who played Chief of Police/Ivy Crane's obsession, Sam Bennet, in Passions. Yeah, he too can do it; if he can play an officer of the law in Harmony, he can do the same in Salem!

Another candidate on my short list is Clive Robertson, who played my favourite character, Ben Evans and his evil twin Derek in Sunset Beach. At 47, he's rather young for the role and has a rather thick British accent, but surely that can be taken care of by a skilled accent coach?

Last on my list is another English actor, James Purefoy, and the only reason is that I found him rather masterful and dashing as Marc Anthony in Rome, and he came so close to being James Bond, but alas was beaten by Pierce Brosnan and later Daniel Craig. Also, rather young- 48- and with an accent, but an actor currently playing a serial killer in The Following; just anything is possible.

In your comments below, PLEASE place your vote!
Thanks.

My Long Affair With Books

Today, after giving my bedroom a good sweeping, I turned out the book cases- three of them. As I brought out each cherished book for dusting and careful mending with the ever present reliable gum; reflection sank in over how many of them - and in different genres- I'd accumulated over the years. Reading has been a huge part of me since I was a child.
My late father- Allah rest his soul- was mostly responsible for this. He was an avid reader himself and when he went to England to study, he became a huge fan of British culture; including their literature. The first English classics I came in contact with while going into his bookcase were Great Expectations and Sense & Sensibility. I didn't go far in the book except for a few pages back then (I was 8 and cared more for books with pictures) but after watching the movie adaptation  he rented, I got  interested in the story but it was several years before I read the full version- I read the simplified version after seeing the movie. But it wasn't the case with Jane Eyre  and Little  Women(I
liked the T.V versions so much) that I insisted on reading the actual versions and I found myself really enjoying each page. But those were a few exceptions- Alice in Wonderland  included. Dad did not want to rush us so until I got to secondary school, the classics I now enjoy in full version were the simplified ones- particularly Shakspeare (in the form of Lamb Tales from Shakspeare).

Primary school:  Aside from the books mentioned above- my reading  preferences were mostly Enid
Blyton's books,  Nigerian folktales  and non-african tales (Cinderella, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast etc.) including   Macmillian's Pacesstters series'. But once I got to secondary school- I entered the full length era ; African and Non African. Chiamanda Adichie's Purple Hibiscus & Half of a Yellow Sun didn't exist then but there was Flora Nwapa's Efuru and  Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart and I discovered the Nancy Drew books
(sometimes I secretly longed to be just  like her).

But there were also what I called the 'more grown up books' which I had to hide from my parents. Well actually, I didn't have to hide my first romance book ; Barbara Cartland's Love in the Clouds because it belonged to my mother, hence it was lying around for all to see. (Presently I have over 40 second hand Cartland novels).
The one I'm talking about is  the Mills & Boon & Mills & Boon Temptation  romance novels (more known as Harlequin these  days) and before you judge me for reading such stuff at the early age of 13; the girls in the senior class made me read my first Mills & Boon on a dare/bet. They heard that
I was a fast reader so they wanted to see if I could finish it by the next morning (I'm happy to say that I did) and I got a few more from them until I saved up my allowance to buy my own. In between there were also comics- mostly Beano, Whoopee & Chips, Superman, Batman, Tintin, Asterix and Archie. But comics were more to have a laugh and not actually while away the time (well, except Tintin & Asterix) so I stuck to books instead. Alas, against my better judgment I lent my classmates a lot of my precious Mills & Boon romance books and  never got them back. When  I began putting my foot down; my  books began disappearing from my school bag and no one came forward to expose the thief. It was one thing for my property  to be stolen from me but being ganged up against was simply foul. Embittered, I kept my books at home and stopped lending them (a regime I still practise today), in a bid to rebuild my library and show I will not be taken for a sucker again.

But I didn't limit myself to fiction; I discovered Greek myths in the World Books in the school library which in turn led me to The Iliad & The Odyssey much later and write a folktale based on one of them (which is  one of the stories in my own book- The Medicine Girl & other stories). I also paid more attention to Daddy's favorite magazine, Readers' Digest and one of his condensed books- Great Lives; Great Deeds where I read up on   very interesting people from the past, most especially Helen Keller. And I then discovered Danielle Steel through, (funny enough) the DSTV movie guide
when most of the adaptation of her novels were aired. Reading the summaries, I was not inclined to  read any of her books  since I felt most the plots were rather sad- Fine Things, Kaleidoscope, Heartbeat, Palomino) but I changed my mind after reading Jewels and I'm a huge D.S fan now.

Over the years, my library has grown bigger;  more classics (both English and American) and more up to date books like Dan Brown's Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code etc. The Harry Potter books of course and others like John Grisham, Barbara Taylor Bradford and I even dared to venture to the horror books- starting with Stoker's Dracula then Dean Koontz's Phantoms. When I began reading Stephen King's The Tommyknockers I was very bored so I discarded it, along with Dreamcatcher. But Misery, Pet Semetary, Skeleton Crew, Different Seasons, Green Mile proved more promising so I'm a King fan too.

I read mostly because I like stories and knowing more about people and it long inspired me to become a writer myself, (a picture of my two books are in this blog) and I'm currently working on my first novel. When I get depressed and feel I won't be a first rate novel; I pray and then I remember another writer whose dreams of becoming a journalist was never realized- Anne Frank- who kept a riveting diary the whole time her family were in hiding from the Nazis. I first came across her name in the World Book so I was happy to find her published diary in a book fair. If she could keep on writing the way she did in spite of living in fear every day; I should stop being such a whiner and keep trying- despite a certain non-supporter of my writing keeps saying!
When I was still a teacher, I did my best to make my students understand that they would get higher grades in English Language; especially in essay writing if they read more but unfortunately very few of them paid any attention and I was made out to be the bad guy. And some  people I know seem contemptuous when they see a book in my hand, making the word 'novel' seem like the word 'Hustler magazine'. What exactly is their problem; their lack of interest in books shouldn't be spread to others, should it? And alas, most kids in my country seem more inclined to read comics and watch movies instead of reading, even with this digital era of
e-books via Kindles. I don't own a Kindle by the way; hardcovers and paperbacks are more of my thing still.
Sorting out my  books this morning, I gave a silent thanks to my Dad. He was not exactly an easy man to live with and hard to please but I'm glad he made us understand the pleasure of reading. If I wasn't an avid reader like him, I wouldn't be a writer today. Reading will always be a part of me. And my library will- God Willing-keep getting more additions. After all, one can never have enough books!

(except for the image of Nancy Drew  & the Kindle; all the  images of the books in this post are from my bookshelves)

Does the Zodiac REALLY tell us who we are?

I do not believe in Horoscopes... not just because of my religion but I always get the feeling they are expressively put there only to tell us what we want to hear.
The Zodiac is a total puzzle. According to its character profile; as a typical Libra I am romantic but particular, diplomatic but indecisive, ultimately happiest when in love, in reality I don't like being alone, I hate conflicts, will do absolutely anything to avoid confrontations  and  possess a high developed sense of objectivity and conflict resolution.  Except for the part of being in love (I haven’t been in love for years), the rest... all true.
After getting over the shock, I urged my colleagues to tell me their birth dates to get their Zodiac signs and read them their character profiles; all turned out accurate- a friend who’s a Scorpio admitted she does find it difficult to forgive when offended, a Scorpio trait. After that day, my fascination with the Zodiac was born.
Then I came across an article in an old copy of Marie Claire- the topic “How to Spot a Bastard” by using his Zodiac sign. Hear this, ladies...

The Taurus Man... In a nut shell, he thinks he knows what’s good for you, a.k.a he’s arrogant and bossy.
The Cancer Man, don’t ask what’s wrong with him, he’ll only say “nothing.” This means he is moody.
The Scorpio Man will manipulate you until you become exactly what he wants you to be- which means he’s a tyrant. The Aries Man yearns for the time when men were men and women were grateful; a chauvinist. The Leo Man- you are so blessed to have such a special man... at least that’s what he’ll tell you; a conceited  egomaniac. The Libra Man (most disturbing to me) always gets his own way; stubborn and unbending.  Ugh... talk about North and North poles repel rather than attract! But there was a few that were more promising, like the Capricorn Man who is hardworking, ambitious and takes everything seriously.
Speaking of taking things seriously... while I was reluctant to believe in the accuracy of the Zodiac, I was a little freaked out at the way it listed out my traits that way, especially the ones I didn't know I had in the first place, it’s was like I didn't know the actual me until astrology pointed it out. Aren't we in a position to know all our traits; positive or negative?
Or the real question is, does the Zodiac dictate our personalities or we humans form our personalities ourselves? If it's the second, how? Genes or experience? Or for real... the Zodiac is more than meets the scornful eye???

DIEGO AND PALOMA- The beginning

MEXICO...

It is harvest time again at the hacienda Casa Blanca; a plantation/ranch known for its fertile acres of land and its quality coffee crop. The workers-  known as bean collectors- arrive in droves to begin  work. Climbing out of one of the trucks are two women; one dark haired petite and youthful  looking woman,Soledad Suarez. The other is a tall, slim and staggeringly beautiful young woman with curly honey-blonde hair; her daughter Teresa but it is immediately  noticed that Soledad, the foreman Aurelio and  the male co-workers who attempt to  flirt with the disdainful young woman address her as 'Paloma' instead. Aurelio warmly welcomes the two women. The hacienda's owner, Don Lorenzo Sanchez-Serrano arrives with his wife, Inez. Don Lorenzo is looking obviously very frail and leans on Inez's arm as they enter the house. Paloma and Soledad interact with the other workers and go about their work but it appears that Paloma wants more out of life than harvesting crops for the rest of her life. Soledad is more of a simple persona.
The next morning, Don Lorenzo is unable to get out of bed and Inez is exasperated by the sound of Paloma's singing from afar but Lorenzo does not seem to mind a bit. Suddenly Lorenzo feels weaker and calls Inez to his side... he is dying.  Inez, filled with sorrow, tries to reassure him but Don Lorenzo dies in minutes.
Aurelio solemnly and sadly informs the workers that Don Lorenzo Sanchez-Serrano is dead and the outpouring of grief is great; Soledad especially is very tearful.
One by one; the family is notified. The eldest son, Juan Francisco is in New York when he received word. His son and the son of his younger brother Joachim- Fabian and the handsome Diego- are in England; having a party in their apartment. While Fabian is entertaining their guests, Diego is trying to get amorous with his date in the bedroom but alas, the plane refused to take off (to his acute frustration and embarrassment) so he gets dressed and leaves the room. They too get the news.
Diego's sister, Diana, is making love with her Scottish  boyfriend Jeremy Macgregor when she got the message of her grandfather's passing and to her dismay, Jeremy insisted on flying to Mexico with her. Diego's younger sister also received word but unfortunately cannot make it to the funeral as the play she was featuring in was to open the following night.
The family arrive in Casa Blanca for Don Lorenzo's funeral and console Inez. Paloma sees Diego walk by and is immediately fascinated by the handsome young man. At the funeral, Paloma walks to the front of the chapel to lay a flower on the Don's casket and Diego sees her for the very first time; giving her a faint smile in spite of himself.
The will is read out by the family counsel; Jorge. The hacienda is to go to Joachim which would then go to Diego after his death. The coffee exporting company known as El Cafetalero is to go to Juan Francisco, the older son. There are two odd things however; Don Lorenzo also stated that the grandson who bore a son first would inherit both the hacienda and the company. The second was a sealed envelope which he instructed Jorge NOT to open and view its contents until a certain period of time. The family is mystified but they reluctantly have to follow the late man's wishes.
Diego and Paloma become friends when he surprises her and Soledad with a T.V set to watch in their cabin instead of going to the main house to watch telenovelas through the window like they usually did. A co-worker harasses Paloma and Diego breaks up a fight between them. Joachim, who is very protective of his children does not approve of Jeremy; to his discomfort. Barbara, Fabian's official girlfriend hopes he will finally commit to her.
The days go by and Diego and Paloma; after getting to know each other more, realize that they are in love. One moonlit night, they go to the lake, discussing their feelings and plans for the future as Diego has to go back to England with Fabian; while Paloma and Soledad have to drift on. Emotions are high between the couple. Paloma admits that she's never made love to a man. Diego in turn tells her he's never slept with a woman (obviously Paloma is the one woman who actually turned him on).
Paloma, very shy and a little fearful, stands trembling as Diego pulls down the shoulder strap of her dress but does not stop him. Diego then  slowly unzips her dress, they kiss and sink to the ground; Paloma unbuttons his shirt and takes it off...
They then made love under the stars; their action punctuated by kisses and caresses then finally, they fell asleep in each other's arms...

MY FAVORITE THINGS: YEAR 6 !

I first learnt about blogging from a professional blogger(and very talented lady) who posted recaps of the telenovela La Hija de Jardinero (The Gardener's Daughter) and  other things in her blog,
TELENOVELA LOVE GARDEN.  When I found my way to Blogger, I agonised over what to call mine and what to put in it. Since Mrs Philomena already put 'The Gardener's Daughters' episodes in hers, I thought I would try to talk about movies and books to begin with.
Hence, after naming my blog MY FAVORITE THINGS, on May 10th 2007, I posted my very first post AND THEN THERE WAS THREE, and the next day it was about the release of J.K. Rowling's final Harry Potter book in   ATTENTION HARRY POTTER FANS!  At that time, I had no idea what I was doing, except that I wanted my blog to contain my interests as well as entertain my visitors. At one point, I thought about deleting MY FAVORITE THINGS since it didn't seem to be attracting  much traffic, but then I posted  IT'S RAINING TELENOVELAS  and suddenly I had more readers, mostly thanks to Mrs Philomena, who saw my blog and praised my efforts (Welcome Amina, The Telenovela Rainmaker)
And she and many people encouraged me to keep MY FAVORITE THINGS going. My first official label was  WORLD OF LATINA; followed by recaps of CATALINA y SEBASTIAN, movie reviews under LATEST MOVIES, celebrities under PEOPLE, summaries of a classic mini series under THE THORN BIRDS  and about TV couple Bo Brady and Carly Manning under Carbo; chapters of my story & a one-shot based on them under CARBO FAN FICTION. There are other labels in this blog, each one fun to put together but the one that was the most fun/ the most challenging was the TU O NADIE EPISODES( No One But You); everything was entirely drawn from memory and watching some clips in YT(difficult since my Spanish is not excellent) and a few English episodes I recorded on our VCR (the cassette is completely dirty now, alas) but it was all worth it in the end, plus the trivia about the remakes and afterwards posting episodes of of one of them, ACAPULCO BODY & SOUL
In the 6 years I've maintained MY FAVORITE THINGS, I've not made any money from it, but the reward I've reaped is my readers and having warm interactions with my visitors who love my blog and what I post. For me, it's good practice for a writer like me- each post gives me more confidence that writing is my calling; nothing else. I also enjoy the comments and feedback I get, as well as the large amount of traffic; that's more than enough reward for me.
I'm thankful to God that I'm posting this anniversary post; I'm thankful to my readers/blog visitors and my mentor, Mrs Philomena. Your words of encouragement were a major fuel in keeping this blog going, and I pray there will be more years of MY FAVORITE THINGS. A very big THANK YOU to my readers/visitors for visiting, reading, commenting and messaging. I honestly and truly appreciate it.
Happy Anniversary, MY FAVORITE THINGS and peace be with you all.

MOTHER'S DAY: ME AND MUM

It's Mother's Day here in Nigeria today and I think over my relationship with my Mum. I'm my mother's first child and only daughter; after me came two sons. Mum has always been overprotective with me especially; it would appear touching but as a woman of 33 now, I find it exasperating and  rather annoying. But that's the thing; even when you leave your childhood behind, you  remain your Mum's child for the rest of your life.
Mum and I have had our share of friction and  closeness over the years, mostly because we think differently and have different preferences. These days I try to be more assertive since I'm not a teenager anymore but it's not all that easy since I live in a society where sassing your elders is considered as something  just not done. Some daughters are their mother's best friends, some are like their sisters/mother and child. I love my Mum and I know she loves me as well but the only way I can define our relationship would be  enduring
Even though she's looked after me all through my childhood till now, there is still something missing between us; which is real communication where I can tell her just about anything. And there is the feeling of not being the sort of daughter that she wants because so far, I don't think I've really done anything to make her proud.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching about her, Lord no! She's carried a lot of burden on her shoulders over the years; mostly for us kids and we three hope that in time we'll be able to repay her for it. And we also hope that we'll achieve something huge and be a real credit to her.
Mothers don't always share our interests, personalities and opinions but real mothers be there for the children. And a mother's love is constant and forever. Which is the type of love my mum has for us three.

CARBO FAN FICTION- Return Journey Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Doug Williams was very upset about his daughter and couldn't help feeling that Hope’s  mother was reproaching him from Heaven. Addie had carried Hope to term even though she was stricken with leukaemia, refusing any form of  treatment.

CARBO FAN FICTION- Return Journey Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Shawn Douglas went back to his parents’ house the following day only to get his backpack and that was after Bo had left for work; so he left a note telling him he was staying with Carly. It wrung Carly’s heart to see her beloved foster son alienated from his parents and family but Shawn Douglas flatly refused to discuss them or go to the Pub, although he did insist that the current situation wasn't Carly’s fault at all; his family’s behaviour had shocked him so much that he simply couldn't be around them for now.

ACAPULCO CUERPO y ALMA snippet 14- FINALE

Marcelo immediately goes into hiding, but keeps taunting David over the phone about enjoying Humberto's money with Lorena and living happily ever after with her.
During a business trip in Mexico City, David's personal assistant Raul (egged on by Aide, who was furious that David was still in love with Lorena) surprised him in his bedroom with a gun. David then realised that Lorena and Julia's warning was true, but hadn't expected Raul to be a conspirator at all.
A  very nervous Raul insisted he only wanted to kill him so that Aide would be free to marry him, but David said she was playing him for a patsy; she would go free and he would go to prison for murder! In despair, Raul fled the room.

Back in Acapulco, David confronts Aide about her plot to kill him and share his wealth with Marcelo, for Enrique and Irasema's murders and for breaking up his marriage to Lorena. The family tries to intervene as Aide denied his accusations, but David angrily told them to back off, seizing Aide by the neck.

In Miami, Lorena was told by Power Girl about David's attempted murder, but declared that if David came pleading, she would send him away.

Ordering the guards to open the gates, David literally throws Aide out of the house with no luggage or money. Aide's mother is very angry at her daughter's true colours and disowns her.

Marcelo has another evil plan, and this time it involves his mother Elena...

After confronting Aide for her lies and making him believe she loved him, but in fact had been using him as a pawn and spy the whole time, Raul shoots her.
Aide is taken to the hospital, and Raul is arrested. She promised to give the police her statement.

Lorena is informed about Aide, but feels no sympathy for her. In jail, Raul begged his boss for his forgiveness. Julia answered the phone, then passed it to Lorena, saying it was their father. But it was actually David who began to ask Lorena to forgive him. In anger, she hung up. (You accused a lady of cheating on you, you humiliated her, now you want to reconcile with her over the phone??? Fool! )

One of the servants overheard Elena's conversation with Marcelo over the phone. After sending a guard to follow her, he called David to inform him. To Elena's dismay, Marcelo ordered her to be tied up!
Back at the mansion, the servant told David that the guard followed Elena to a house in the hills. David instructed him to call the police and direct them there.
David is dragged to Marcelo's presence. Marcelo, now totally demented, began a fist fight with David. While Marcelo was reeling from a punch, David untied Elena, but then Marcelo grabbed him again. Overpowering him, Marcelo picked up a rock to bash David with. Elena begged him to put the rock down, pointing a gun at him. Marcelo does not heed her, daring her to shoot him, her own son. Putting down the gun, Elena rushed at him, trying to get the rock from him.
'Let go of me!' he snarled, struggling with her and then... they both went over the balcony, falling several feet into the sea.  David screamed in horror as Marcelo and poor Elena disappeared into the deep, dark water!

::::::::::::::::::
Lorena is very sad about Mrs Elena's death, vowing to pray for her before deciding to go back to Acapulco to have her baby there. Aide is sentenced to serve time in prison.

Months later, Cinthia welcomes a very beautiful baby girl, naming her after her late stepmother. Full of remorse, she urged David not to give up on getting Lorena back.
David visited Lorena at the hospital after their son was born, with flowers and a very repentant heart. But Lorena is very cold, pointing out to him that if you truly loved someone, you never offended them nor thought the worst of them; she could not forgive him for hurting her so much.
Aide's mother and sister decided to go on a three-month trip. Aide is very bitter that they were leaving her to rot in jail.
David begged Lorena to think of their son. Lorena sneeringly reminded him that he had thought the baby was Marcelo's before asking him to leave.

Oscar and Power Girl make their own plans- their house was being built, and Power Girl was now carrying their first child. They both hoped that  Lorena would find it in her heart to forgive David eventually.

On Lorena's last day in Acapulco, Cinthia brings baby Elena to visit Lorena and meet her nephew. She asked for Lorena's forgiveness and begged her to give David the chance to make up for his great mistake. But Lorena was more than anxious to move on with her life, without David.

At the airport, David caught up with Lorena as she was about to board the plane, again begging and telling her that he loved her. 'Forgive me for being so stupid,' he pleaded.

But Lorena was resolute. Since they had met, she'd been surrounded by lies and tricks, but she had counted on his loyalty, and he'd believed everyone except her. She loved him too, but things couldn't be the same between them. Sadly, David watched her board the private plane, and the door closed behind her.

Hours later, David is at home, staring at the setting sun, lonely and miserable. But then he hears footsteps behind him, and there is Lorena, smiling at him, their baby in her arms. 'What are we going to do without you?' she asked. 'We couldn't go knowing that you need us as much as we need you.'
 HE'S  FORGIVEN!
Overjoyed, David walks up to her. She hands the squirming baby to him, smiling at him tenderly.
'I love you and I always will.' David said softly.
'I love you too.' Lorena replied, also softly. ' I want to stay in Acapulco with you forever.'

ACAPULCO CUERPO y ALMA snippet 13

Marcelo falls ill in prison; not used to such harsh conditions. Humberto apologises to Lorena- realising that she merely followed her heart, so he could not hold it against her, he had been too hasty and anxious to win her. Aide's sister informed their mother about finding Aide in bed with Marcelo, which Aide loudly denied.
Marcelo gets paroled and stays in the mansion, to David's anger. He begs David to let him stay for a few days as he is very ill. David angrily agreed, not knowing his wife Aide was hiding behind an armchair.
David is furious to see Humberto, who came to see him to put things right between David and Lorena by telling him Lorena is still in love with him. But David is too angry to listen and tells him to leave, vowing that he will get his comeuppance soon for putting the moves on Lorena. Elena advises Marcelo to repent his evil ways; he really hurt her, so she had no choice but to get him arrested.
Humberto is killed when his car explodes! (Marcelo's handiwork, of course) A shaken Raul rushes into David's office to inform him. Lorena hears the terrible news from Oscar.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::
Aurelio, Lorena's father, feels the explosion was an accident, but Lorena was sure it was murder and blames herself for Humberto's untimely death. As German knew too much and was now blackmailing him, Marcelo orders him to be killed too, but he is rushed to the hospital, barely alive. When the police arrive, he gives his statement between gasps; about Marcelo's lie to Lorena and stealing David's identity and of Irasema and Enrique's murders...
Marcelo barged into Humberto's house- now Lorena's, according to Humberto's  Will- to force himself on her, but fortunately, Power Girl arrives on time and he's thrown out. Oscar later called Power Girl to inform her that German was going to testify against Marcelo. Cinthia is devastated to hear from David about Enrique's death.
Disguised as a nurse, Aide sneaks into German's room and finishes him off.

ACAPULCO CUERPO y ALMA snippet 12

Devastated that David had married the woman who wrecked their marriage, Lorena decided to agree to Humberto's proposal- she would move to Miami and marry him.
Marcelo causes more trouble in the office, informing David that Elena had signed over her shares of the company to him, but when she is questioned by Oscar, Elena said she did no such thing- how had Marcelo gotten hold of them?
At the airport, Lorena said goodbye to her father, Aurelio and Julia, flying to Miami with Humberto. Elena angrily questioned Marcelo about the shares- he had found a way of stealing them! Oscar contacted David on his honeymoon with Aide in Madrid about the matter. Power Girl informed Lorena over the phone about what Marcelo did and that Elena was very ill because of it. Lorena dreads her upcoming wedding.

After giving Marcelo a sound thrashing, David ordered Marcelo to be thrown out of the building. Elena cannot believe her own son would do such a thing to her. David advised her to take legal action against him.
David was very bitter when he heard from Oscar  that Lorena is marrying his ex-best friend Humberto, wondering why Humberto would accept Marcelo's unborn child. Oscar reminded him that the baby was his, but David angrily refused to hear that. Marcelo is shocked when the police come to arrest him for fraud; Elena had reported him to the authorities. David was very pleased that his stepmother took a stand for once.
Power Girl told Lorena about it, and she, too was pleased Elena decided to punish her son.
On her wedding day, Lorena is distressed and unhappy; all she could see was David's face as she walked up the aisle towards Humberto. And at the last minute, she picked up her full white skirts and ran away- SHE  COULDN'T GO THROUGH WITH IT! Power Girl and Julia tried to make her change her mind, reminding her that David married Aide, but she refused- she still loved David! Julia informed her that Aide and Marcelo were sleeping with each other behind David's back and were probably plotting against him.
In Acapulco, Elena consoled a weeping David who thought Lorena's wedding was going on at that moment. From her hiding place, Aide watched him cry over Lorena.
Humberto was very bitter to see that Lorena still wouldn't let go her love for a man who'd accused her of cheating on him; feeling sure she would regret her decision.
David later got a visit from Lorena (Oscar had told him she did not marry Humberto after all). They almost kiss but pull away at the last minute. David didn't want to hear what Lorena had to say, coldly  telling her not to speak ill of his wife.
Exasperated and very hurt, Lorena walked out of his office.

Enrique resumed his affair with Irasema, not wanting his brother-in-law to have her. But then they are both murdered during a drive; Marcelo had ordered men to tamper with the brakes!
Full of remorse, Julia promised her sister that she would make things right. German is not in support of Marcelo harming Humberto as well- after all, he'd gotten what he wanted at last; she and David were no longer together, and there was no way she would ever go back to Marcelo, but Marcelo angrily tells him to shut up.
David gets worried when Irasema does not answer his calls. Lorena, still in love with David, told Humberto she was not in love with him.
Cinthia is devastated when it appears that Enrique had left her again, and this time she was pregnant. Power Girl advised Lorena to move on with her life. David is furious to hear that Humberto is pursuing Lorena, feeling sure she was encouraging him. In actual fact, Lorena was spending lonely nights thinking of her now ex-husband.
Julia went to David's office and made her confession, but David felt Lorena told her to say all those things, as he didn't think a young woman would actually do such things to her sister. To forget Lorena completely, David told Aide to arrange their wedding. Oscar congratulated him, although he knew very well that David was still in love with Lorena. Lorena is told by Power Girl, and feels bitter, but Power Girl assures her she would not attend the wedding even if Oscar did.
Julia told Marcelo's wife what really happened in New York, adding her own part.
Lorena, in turn, gave Power Girl some shocking news: she is PREGNANT!
David flatly refused to believe the baby is his- to Power Girl and Oscar's horror. In anger, Power Girl shouted, 'You're the stupidest man I have ever met!'
Marcelo's wife caught her sister Aide, and Marcelo in bed together, and Aide had to beg Marcelo not to kill her sister.
Elena is overjoyed at the news of Lorena's pregnancy but is shocked by David's unfair and stubborn stand in the matter- he wanted nothing to do with it or Lorena (What AN IDIOT!!!)

David paid another visit to Lorena, asking if the baby was Marcelo's and out of anger and hurt that he would actually think such a thing, she said Yeah, it was! Aide is dismayed to hear from Cinthia that Lorena was pregnant, fearing that he would reconcile with her. So she paid a visit to Lorena's flat, telling her that David couldn't care less about her baby. Lorena coldly told her to leave.
Humberto, on hearing the news, asked Lorena to marry him and allow him to be the father of her baby.
David and Aide have a white wedding; Lorena watched from afar and cried bitterly before Power Girl gently led her away...

After the shock came the rage. In great fury, David darted at Marcelo, grabbing him by the neck. 'Bastard!' He shouted. Lorena, now awake, watched in great confusion. Aide is very pleased with herself.
Lorena pleaded with David to listen to her; she would never, ever cheat on him. She got drunk, and Aide helped her to bed, that's all! Marcelo shamelessly begged David to forgive them both; it was out of love that they had slept together all this time. Lorena screamed at him to shut the hell up; she never slept with him! David beat up Marcelo, calling him trash. Marcelo retorted that he could do and say what he liked to him, but he'll never take Lorena from him- she loved him, not David. Furious, David threw him out before turning on Lorena, accusing her of being a liar and a hypocrite. Lorena wept bitterly, pleading with him to believe her, she loved him... only him, but he does not listen to her. Marcelo's wife is shocked to see his nose bleeding.

Power Girl hurries into the room to console Lorena, who is crying, unable to understand what had happened and why her husband refused to believe her.
At the bar, Oscar warned David not to rush things; there had to be a good explanation for what he'd seen, but David was too angry and sad to pay attention. Lorena was his first love, and she had betrayed him; he couldn't stay married to him. Upstairs, he tells Lorena in front of everyone that their marriage is definitely over. Very angry and hurt, Lorena accepted her fate but warned him he would be sorry he ever thought such a thing about her.
Back in Acapulco, though she tried hard to deny it, Julia got a terrible scolding from an angry Lorena for helping Marcelo ruin her marriage, declaring she'll never forgive her. Marcelo gloats over the success of his plan; Aide, meanwhile, gives a very depressed  David her sympathy. Elena, on the other hand, does not believe Lorena is guilty.

To Aide's anger, David begins to date Enrique's girlfriend, Irasema, instead of her.
Elena paid Lorena a visit at her father's house; Lorena protested that she was innocent and Elena should know; thanks to the conversation she had heard, he and that bitch Aide had set her up. David also visited Lorena, and it ended bitterly; Lorena was going ahead with the divorce, and so was he. She wept as the door slammed behind him.
Elena angrily confronted Marcelo for what he did- she knew very well that Lorena would never cheat David. Marcelo tried to deny it, but she knew he was lying. It still didn't help as David stubbornly refused to believe Lorena.
Marcelo went to David's office to deliberately provoke him, and they engaged in a fierce fight.
Enrique overheard Aide and Cinthia talking about David and Irasema, invoking his jealousy.
Lorena is very surprised to see Humberto again when he visits her father's bar. Humberto has his own agenda, now that Lorena is free; he can now pursue her.
Aide and Marcelo discuss getting rid of Irasema- she was an unexpected obstacle to her hopeful marriage to David.
Meanwhile, Humberto told Lorena that he wanted to be more than friends with her...

Meanwhile, Aide and Marcelo carefully hatch out their plan of separating the happy couple. Aide had heard from her spy, Raul, that David was travelling to the States on a business trip and he was taking Lorena along. Marcelo enlists the help of Lorena's sister, Julia, who was still very resentful towards David and Lorena for making her earn her keep instead of giving her a hefty monthly allowance. Julia does not see how he will be able to convince David that Lorena was cheating on him when she was so crazy about him, and vice versa. Besides, Lorena hated Marcelo. Aide persuades her Mom and sister to go to New York with her and Marcelo; her mum is puzzled that Aide seems so anxious to go on the trip. Lorena's despicable sister agreed to help Marcelo ruin her sister's marriage as she felt that if she remained on their side, she wouldn't get anything. (WHAT A BITCH) Marcelo is very pleased, naturally and begins his evil plan. And unsuspecting Raul gives Aide David's business schedule- when he arrives in New York, he will head to Toronto for a whole day. Meanwhile, Julia plants Marcelo's hairbrush and gold chain in David and Lorena's bedroom. While dressing for Marcelo's wedding, David saw and recognised the chain as he had given it to Marcelo on his birthday years ago. Marcelo denies putting the chain there or having anything with Lorena, urging David not to make a scene on his wedding day. That night, David and Lorena make passionate love as always, assuring each other of their love.
Enrique- Cinthia's husband returns to her, to her joy.

David and Lorena arrive in New York; David kisses Lorena goodbye at the hotel before leaving for Toronto with Raul and Oscar. Aide is very anxious for the plan to work...
Elena and Lorena go shopping with Power Girl and Aide's mother, and on their return are joined by Marcelo, his wife and Aide. Lorena got a phone call from David that he might not come back that night, but tomorrow, to Aide's dismay. Meanwhile, David urges Raul to wrap everything up so he'll head back to New York early and be with Lorena. To Aide's relief, Raul informed her of this. Time for the plan...
All the women are tipsy from the drinks, but Lorena is really drunk, thanks to Aide's continuous filling of her glass. Aide helps Lorena to bed and then begins to take off her shoes and white pantsuit...
Marcelo then entered and cuddled close to a comatose Lorena!

Anticipating his wife's joy at his return, David goes into the suite and finds Marcelo and his beloved wife entwined in bed...

‘Ciara...’ Bo began, but Ciara was too happy and animated to heed her father. ‘Darcy’s getting married!’ She burst out gleefully, skipping about in excitement. ‘And I’m going to be a flower girl and Mel’s going to be her bridesmaid!’

WHO COULD PLAY BO BRADY NEXT?

Let me clarify something first ; I'm an ex-viewer of DAYS OF OUR LIVES, I no longer watch nor support it; it's a show that lost its glory a long time ago and I could care less if it remains for more seasons or not. I'm so disappointed at how the show is now; especially with the absence of my favorite couple- Bo and Carly.

This is not something I expect to happen  at all but it's an interesting question: which actor can fill Peter
Reckell's shoes? That itself is not even  possible except from 1992-1995 when Bo Brady was played by Robert Kelker Kelly. His portrayal was good; not the same as Peter's because I (and probably other viewers back then ) noticed that the working rapport wasn't as strong as the one she had with Peter and from  what I saw in the old clips, she truly truly tried her best to make their scenes together work.

Who else can likely play Bo Brady aside these two actors; nagging question! I went over the actors I liked the most and finally settled on actor Lorenzo Lamas. He played Hector Ramirez in THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and before that I saw him in RENEGADE where he played a Harley riding bounty hunter with a price on his head. He's talented enough, certainly more than handsome enough and tough looking enough to play the role; plus in real-life he's into motorcycles, he launched a motor cycle company some years ago.

I know a lot of people  can't see a third actor play Bo but come on...  how many DAYS OF OUR LIVES faithfuls ( which does NOT include me)  will continue to be content with  the "Invisible Bo" angle that is currently going on; I would be bored to tears by now! If I owned a Soap and made several mistakes; I would do all I can to rectify those mistakes immediately. But so far I've heard of no real changes. The real solution is for Peter and CC to come back and the era of Carbo 3.0 begin  but since that's not ever going to happen; either they get a Bo recast or bounce Hope from the show for good.

Chapter 9

Victor sat in his study, waiting for Carly to arrive. He’d phoned her an hour ago, asking her to come by the house when she had the time; luckily she wasn't busy and agreed to come, to his relief. He had plenty to say to her and he hoped a lot of good will come out of it.

Chapter 8

Bo was angry and sad at the blank look on Darcy’s beautiful brown eyes and the way she tried following the sound of their voices; inwardly swearing vengeance on the person responsible for it.
