A LITTLE SET BACK...

Daniel went to the mansion to see if Raquel had resolved things with Tonio and finds Martha alone in the living room, smoking. She tells him Tonio had gone upstairs to talk to her sister and hadn't  yet come down. She feels Raquel was far too old fashioned, believing all Tonio wanted was have fun with her. Her father pointed out that a proper lady has to protect her dignity and her sister was a decent girl. Martha replied that if Raquel was really decent, she would have come clean with Tonio immediately instead of going on with the deception. Daniel sharply told her not to talk about her sister that way, and then asked him to fix her a drink. He remarked how well stocked the bar was and Martha agreed, one of the many reasons why they should remain in Acapulco instead of going home.

Victoria is at Camilla and Claudio’s place; she told them she was supposed to have a talk with Tonio but he had spent the day out with Maura, which amuses Camilla (sure it does, nonsense woman).
‘Well, how interesting!’ She said.
Claudio asked Victoria how Raquel had found out, and was told it had been from Tonio himself; what disturbed Victoria was that he didn’t even bother to hide it at all, didn’t they agree with her something was wrong?
Claudio felt he merely did so to make Raquel jealous, since she had run off with Max. But Victoria believes Tonio is not himself; plus he’s been saying horrible things about Max, but she’s sure if he helped Raquel, it was because she asked him to; it seemed since she came to the house, she’s been provoking him to do her will or something, she didn’t know. Camilla triumphantly pointed out that she was right about Raquel being a witch and shouldn’t be allowed to stay at the house.
They were also told that Oscar had promised to speak to Tonio; he doesn’t think the accident had changed him but Victoria is worried that if it had made him lose his memory, something else could be wrong too. Camilla and Claudio are very surprised; they hadn’t heard about Tonio’s amnesia and demanded for an explanation (Tonio had requested she shouldn’t, to protect Raquel). After making them promise not to tell Tonio she’d told them, Victoria told them how he hadn’t remembered Raquel, that he’d thought she was an adventuress, pretending to be his wife.
‘Well, isn't  that the truth?’ demanded Camilla.
Victoria replied, of course not, that’s why he had gone to Guadalajara to investigate in the first place and now he was convinced he’d been mistaken. But now it seems he has a persecution complex; first he had thought his wife was a fraud, next saying someone was trying to kill him, that the crash had been preplanned but then said it wasn't , plus accusing Max of a lot of rubbish and threatening him with a pistol. She’s so worried that maybe the accident had made him slightly crazy.

Martha and Daniel are still waiting for Tonio and Raquel to come down, Martha, feeling they were probably fighting, sent Ramón to see if they were coming down to dinner at all. Ramon visibly doesn’t like being ordered around by arrogant Martha but obeys.

Upstairs, Tonio and Raquel are cuddling  naked  in each other’s arms under the blankets;  Tonio's exceptionally manly chest on display.

Her head against Tonio's shoulder, Raquel murmured, 'I'm scared.' Not exactly something she should bring up at a time like that, there's such a thing as a mood killer.
'Of what?' Tonio asked indulgently, rubbing her bare back and shoulder.

'Of Maximillian.' Well... duh, Tonio!

'And do you think I'll ever let him hurt you now? Now more than ever,' he added as Raquel moved her pretty face up to meet his. 'No one can separate  you from me.'

Cuddling then resumes... until Raquel  jumped in fright when there’s a knock on the door but Tonio pulled her back down.
‘What are you afraid of?’ he asked her. ‘You’re my wife, aren’t you?’
Grinning, she said, ‘yes, but I have to get used to it,’ and settled back down beside him as he asked who was knocking.
It was just Ramón, so he got up to see what he wanted. Ramon asked him if he and Senora Raquel were coming down to dinner as Martha and Don Daniel were still waiting for them. Tonio replied they were to excuse them and go ahead. Just then Max passed and the look on his face when he saw Tonio in nothing but jeans, standing outside Raquel’s door! Ignoring him, Tonio asked Ramón to bring his and his wife’s supper to his room instead. He and Max regard each other silently before returning to the bedroom, closing the door behind him. Max is filled with rage! But serves him right, he brought it all on himself. Besides, for all Raquel really did love him before she discovered his betrayal, she must have caught a tiny bit of evil vibe that prevented her from knocking boots with Max after their fake wedding.

Tonio asked Raquel if it was all right they ate in his room. ‘Do you really love me?’ she asked instead.
‘Do you love me?’ he asked in return.
‘Why do you ask what you already know?’ was her reply.
‘I could say the same,’ he said, leaning down to kiss her again.

Moments later…

Max paces up and down his room and, unable to contain his rage any longer, marched to Raquel’s room but found it empty, the bed unmade. He then marched to Tonio's locked door and pounds on it, yelling for Raquel to come out. Raquel tries to call Tonio but he's in the shower and didn't hear her at all. She then leaves the room, through the French windows. Maxis still pounding on the door when Ramon comes up with the tray and sees him; he drops the tray in shock. Ignoring him, Max leaves, guessing she must have fled through the French windows.

Raquel is hiding in the bushes when Chucho startles her, asking her what was wrong. They both duck when Max passes. Chucho asked her if that man had frightened her, but she pleads to him not to tell him he'd seen her.

Inside, Tonio asked Ramon if he'd heard a pounding sound but Ramon merely said it was him accidentally dropping the tray. He then asks for Raquel but Ramon doesn't know where she is.

Her room is empty, so he goes back to his own and sees her entering through the glass doors, still shivering with fright. She's silent when asked what was wrong. Fearing that she'd changed her mind about a lasting relationship with him, he reminded her that he cared for her very deeply, more than she knew- it was the first time he's ever been in love, she should think on that. She asked if she could go back to her room, and he gently allowed her. But as she enters her room, Max barges in in a rage and grabs her, calling her a tramp and saying how he saw Tonio come out of her room half naked. Raquel   defiantly confirmed that yes, she did make love with Tonio  because he's her husband because of him.

Tonio suddenly appears from behind to rescue Raquel and the two men begin beating each other up, Raquel screaming.

Ramon, listening at the door, hurried downstairs to call Victoria, who immediately came up and broke up the fight. Poor Raquel tells Tonio she wanted to leave but he harshly said, 'with him, never!' Max tried to interrupt angrily but Victoria orders him to shut up.
Before leaving however, he shouted that if he was going to jail, he wouldn't be going alone since Raquel is his accomplice, which she loudly denied. Victoria begged Tonio to please tell her what was going on but Tonio merely said she should ask her son. Victoria left the room. Raquel clung to Tonio's arm, tearfully swearing all Max had said about her was a lie; she would never do anything to harm Tonio. What will he do? she asked.
He shook his head and said he didn't know.

FROM TV TO MOVIES

Honestly, I love AND envy America’s film history, not because it’s the largest film industry in the world but because of so much talent and a huge history of film making and T.V series. So much so that a lot of their rested T.V series later became adapted into films; like Charlie’s Angels, Thunderbirds,
Starsky and Hutch ,Miami Vice, Mission Impossible (yes naija folks, it was a T.V series back in the 60’s) and one I’m not familiar with, The Dukes of Hazzard. And not just T.V series too, but their comics; we’ve been treated to SUPERMAN, BATMAN, MASK OF ZORRO, THE FANTASTIC 4, THE X-MEN, SPIDERMAN, SUPERGIRL,CONSTANTINE, GHOST RIDER, DARE-DEVIL , ELEKTRA even THE FLINTSTONES. And now, we’re now treated to the film adaptation of one of the old animated series I loved as a child, SPEED RACER about the driver of the Mack 5, Speed Racer, who was continuously helped by the mysterious Racer X (his banished elder brother, Rex). Maybe there might be a film adaptation of TERRAHAWKS (The original THUNDERBIRDS were puppets weren’t they?), VOLTRON, BATTLE OF THE PLANETS and I really hope, THUNDERSUB. Besides SPEED RACER, we’re also being treated to another Marvel comic adaptation, IRON MAN, starring Robert Downey Jr.as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Terence Stamp as Jim who later became WAR MACHINE. And I heard last week there’ll soon be a film adaptation of THE JUSTICE LEAGUE.
Nollywood’s T.V series still have a long way to go, for one thing, do more biopics where the name are used instead of being ridiculously rearranged and changed, like the film about the Bakassi boys, the film was called ‘Issakaba’. Most of our T.V series today are SO short-lived, yet it seems ‘Family Ties’ and ‘Treasures’ are showing promise of lasting for quite a while. The best one was Checkmate, which had a good run and a reasonable ending as well as a spinoff, Fuji House of Commotion which has been on since 2001, and although Fortunes (renamed Mega fortunes) was cancelled abruptly, it was adapted to a movie named after the bitchy protagonist DANGEROUS GODDESS, the same with the series, FAMILY CIRCLE. In terms of comics adapted to T.V, we have SUPERSTORY, PAPA AJASCO and BINTA& FRIENDS. Just remaining the adaptation of the FUN TIMES; its characters Benbella, Lulu, Alhaja and Bobo Odenson WOULD be a scream on television. It’s not fair the comic was phased out without warning in the first place.

SNIPPET: ISABELLA, GOD DON CATCH YOU!!!

Orlando also finds an address of a photo lab in Isabella’s address book and writes it down. Giacormo still feels Silvia and Lorenzo can be happy in spite of Laura’s pregnancy but Silvia feels it’s impossible since Lorenzo and Laura will be living in the same house for the baby’s sake. Alex angrily tells Conan and Mimi he was moving out. Mimi phones her mother to tell her who asks her to stop him until she got there. At the restaurant, Isabella goes to the ladies’ and Lorenzo receives the photos sent by Orlando, to his greatest amazement. He phones him, filled with fury. Orlando advises him not to do anything crazy; if he quarreled with Isabella now, it could ruin the company since it’s through her connections they were exporting their stuff abroad but Lorenzo doesn’t care, he’s far too angry and upset, now that he knows why Silvia had left him without explanation. Isabella comes back and Lorenzo deliberately begins talking about his love for Silvia and how she’d left him without explanation, which visibly annoys her.
Mimi manages to keep Alex until their mother got back. He angrily confronts her about always interfering in his life, but his mother assures him she’ll tell Silvia the condition is revoked (like she would care, she loves Lorenzo now, why would she go back to a bum like you?), begging him not to leave as she loves him very much. Laura gets to the office and asks where Lorenzo is but he’s not yet back, but Nattie doesn’t allow her to wait in his office since he’s not his wife any more. When Laura arrogantly reminded her she still owned half the company, Nattie replied she didn’t since she was an ‘adulteress’, which makes the stupid woman slap her. Nattie was about to retaliate but Gloria breaks it up and leads Laura to the boardroom instead to wait for Lorenzo. Giacormo tells Mimi there was nothing to investigate after all, that it was an accident. He told her his son was upset about her decision but he personally understood since Tony had been so unkind to her before. Lorenzo deliberately provokes Isabella who curtly asks him to change the subject since it made her feel ‘awkward’. Lorenzo reminds her as his ‘friend’, she should be listening to his problems. Isabella finally tells him that she loved him and had returned from Europe to be with him again and how she hated Laura for stealing him from her (actually that’s true). Lorenzo asked her to lower her voice, but she snappishly said she didn’t care if everyone knew about it, and he shouldn’t pretend he wasn’t aware of it. Lorenzo replied, much as she was in love with him, he was very much in love with Silvia. Isabella loudly reminded him Silvia had left him, why was he still pursuing her…?
Lorenzo angrily interrupted, ‘because you showed her these doctored photos of us!’ and threw them down in front of her. For once, Evil Isabella is speechless, with the most ridiculous cornered look on her over painted face. (Oh, Isabella you first class b***h…what lie will you use now as a ditch???). HA! HA!

UNTIL NEXT WEEK, PEACE OUT and PLEASE, POST YOUR COMMENTS OR LEAVE A MESSAGE IN THE C-BOX, BOTH WOULD BE APPRECIATED VERY MUCH BY YOUR HOST.
YOURS IN BLOGSHIP…HONEY.

SNIPPET: LAURA'S IN TROUBLE NOW!

E.P isn’t pleased no one gave her anything. Laura denies having anything to do with the accident. Giacormo decides not to have her charged with attempted murder, only because of her unborn child but threatened to have her jailed if she had an abortion; Laura insists she’ll never do anything to hurt him , but he doesn’t believe her. Silvia and Nattie come home to find Hercules and Juanito asleep, tired out from their work. Nattie is skeptical about Silvia’s partnership with E.P, since the woman can’t be trusted. Isabella and Lorenzo return from watching a play, but it’s obvious Lorenzo didn’t pay attention to it as his mind is too full of Silvia. He refuses to have dinner, pleading tiredness. Tony tries kissing Mimi but she reminds him they had both agreed to take it slow and makes it clear she doesn’t want them to be a couple just yet, asking for a little more time. Tony goes out and accuses Conan of turning Mimi against him. When Conan wants to go and check on her, Lysette doesn’t allow him. Lorenzo still refuses to go inside for a drink when Isabella tries to insist so she says goodnight instead. The workers resumes to E.P’s factory for the day’s work. E.P tries flirting with Hercules, who ignores her. Tony is furious that Giacormo resumed work so soon. He also told him what Mimi had said but his father is sure she’ll get over her resentment.
Isabella goes to see Laura’s doctor, pretending Laura had recommended him, complaining of dizziness. When he goes to fetch something, she hurriedly goes through Laura’s file. They go for the test.
Orlando places a rose and a card on Nattie’s desk (I know her current is gay but if she goes back to her ex I’ll never watch this telenovela again, he’s a pig), Nattie finds it and suspects Orlando when he teases her about it. Tony is a bit cold towards his father when he speaks over the phone with one of his friends, who is also gay, but insists it no longer bothers him. (right…)

Tu O Nadie: The fifth version

Did you know that the beloved 1985 telenovela " Tu No Nadie" (No One But You)   has a 5th version? I recently discovered this by ...
