What makes Bo and Carly special?

Veteran fans of the duo Carbo were thrilled when Carly returned to DAYS late 2009; new Carbo followers were immediately  enchanted by her and both groups enjoyed watching her and Bo rekindle an old love that was obviously still there. Even though they're apart again right now; we're still not giving up on them and they WILL be together again as long as we keep our voices loud and clear to the DAYS producers and writers that we want Bo and Carly to stay. The current situation in the show's  really breaking my heart but I  just can't stomach the writers' 'misdirection' right now, if you get my drift.
But the subject of today's post; while we Carbos say that it's time that Bo and Hope finally call it a day after years of on and off again- let's also explore this burning question; why are Bo and Carly so exceptionally special, considering they had only 3 years together as a couple?
I still don't know the exact answer to that, but as far as I've seen from the old episodes, Bo and Carly's love is not only deep and mature, but also predestined, if you take a good look at their three memorable encounters( I explored this in my Bo and Carly fan fiction).
In 1990, their first meeting was at Bo's pier a few days after Carly's arrival in Salem, not long after Hope's 'death'. But it later turned out it wasn't their REAL meeting, it actually took place in Alamania six years back.During Bo, Hope's (And Shawn D's) cruise round the world, they had docked at Alamania and  Bo had seen Larry and Carly arguing (she  was breaking up with him) and when Larry tried to stop her from leaving, Bo picked a fight with Larry and Carly was able to escape. Of course at that time Bo and Carly barely caught a glimpse of each other's faces at the time so there was no way they were able to recognize each other years later at the pier during the protest against Jencon. The Alamania encounter was revealed to the viewers much later in a flashback sequence when Bo told the story to Carly much later , thinking the fist fight (which, by the way, he won hands down) was the reason why Larry was after him, not knowing Carly was the girl in question.
The third encounter as we all know, took place in Bo's living room; he tackled an intruder, only to discover it was his ex fiancee whom he hadn't laid eyes on for 16 years.
Even when they were together back in the day, it was more than obvious that Bo and Carly had a very special bond, the way they looked at each other, all the things they said to each other the whole time, especially during the beautiful symbolic wedding they had on top of El Castillo (which I hope they'll go back to some day).

The love,  bond and the chemistry has always been there but the DAYS writers don't seem to care about their history but thank God that we still do. When we say we want Bo and Carly to stay together for a a very long time, it's because we have valid reasons, not because  of any form of bias against Hope. So please, I need everyone to do this: in the comment line, write exactly what you think makes Bo and Carly so special. And please view this 'lost' montage. I had to upload it in You Tube using another track, thanks to their annoyingly strict rules. Remember, feel free to make your voices heard!

CARLY'S FATE PART 3: BRING BACK MARCUS HUNTER!

I pasted this at SONY for the benefit of those who are not familiar with this blog and I hope it will pick up because the thread's topic really sounds like a good idea to me.
Although I've stopped watching DAYS since the breakup, I gathered from the other viewers that our Carly is hiding her pain by putting up a stoic front but is soon going to crack under the bottled feelings she's nursing and I'm not surprised, even the strongest person on earth have their breaking point and Carly's on her way towards hers, poor lady.

With Bo back with 'you know who', Carly's now alone but at least she has Mel, the reason she came back to Salem in the first place  contrary to the hateful citizens of Salem opinions. And with Daniel bonding with Jennifer, it doesn't look like there's going to be a Carly/Daniel pairing- YUCK!- NOT that I want one, I can't bear him; not after the way he behaved when Carly told him he was Mel's father, accusing her of playing God with his life by keeping it from him for so long, giving up their child and living large with Lawrence as if it was something she wanted, never thinking of all she went through just to keep him and their daughter alive. Daniel is not in tune with Carly like Bo is and a match with her is an accident waiting to happen.

No, who I still  have in mind for Carly to  be her comforter at this sad time is  Dr. Marcus Hunter. For those of you who don't know/remember Marcus( played by the late Richard Biggs; R.I.P) he was Steven Johnson's childhood friend and former head of Surgery at Salem University hospital. If you think Carly and Bo's first meeting wasn't conventional, Marcus' first encounter with our princess was even more- he literally caught her in the shower while she was staying at Justin and Adrienne's place (She'd met them at Tahiti and they'd decided to swap houses).

Despite Carly's secretive attitude, she and Marcus formed a deep friendship, so deep that even Steve asked Marcus if he was ever going to ask her out. I heard that some viewers thought that would happen but after Carly laying eyes on Bo, I'm sure they saw that a Marcus/Carly wasn't going to happen.
Anyhow, Marcus and Carly remained friends and he seemed to understand her as much as Bo did, and like Bo- he knew her INSIDE OUT. He was even the first person she revealed her true name to, operated on her when she had the elevator accident and she in turn was there for him when Steve 'died', I remember the clip when she found him in the hospital chapel praying for his friend and they exchanged a hug.
Marcus' story came to an end when he left town in 92 after he fell in love with Kayla but was rejected as she was with Shane already.Considering how bitchy Kayla is now, we can all say sweet Marcus had a NARROW escape!
With Carly all alone now, I feel that someone has to be there for her, at least for now and Marcus should be that man based on the reasons I've already stated. It makes a lot of sense to me; if the writers stubbornly refuse to bring back her brother Frankie to console his sister, then Marcus should return to Salem and be with Carly for now, played by a recast of course. Lord knows Carly deserves someone who doesn't take her for granted like Bo did (VERY VERY angry with him right now) and maybe it will open his eyes to the fact that Carly's more than beautiful enough to attract other guys who actually know what they want. If he truly still loves her, this might just force him to realize where his heart truly lies. If a fight for love could happen back in '91 (when he and Victor clashed over Carly) why can't it happen now?

CARBOS, KEEP THE FAITH!!!

Since Bo and Carly's breakup, I've been handling the situation in the best and sensible way; I simply stopped watching and reading the spoilers at Daycafe.com. Since I ignored DAYS for several years, this has been a very easy decision to make as well as the fact that the Carbo supporters are even more motivated to fight for this iconic couple. It's really touching that despite only 3 years of being a couple, Bo and Carly have so many fans who love them; die-hard fans and new fans who got devoted to them when Crystal Chappell returned in 2009.
Which is why I just don't understand KC and his writing crew more than ever; Bo and Hope have been a couple for 25 years, SO WHAT??? It's not like they didn't problems all those years and from the way they were on-off and off-on and AGAIN on-off all that time, their marriage has been more like a vase that's fallen off several times and the broken pieces glued back together. Then comes the time when that vase becomes so cracked in many places it loses it's original beauty and the owner would either stop using it or simply throw it away. THAT'S Bo and Hope's marriage, so MANY cracks and yet the writers persist at dragging them back, only this time- they are using guilt on Bo's part to draw him back to a woman who does'nt deserve him.

No, I AM NOT BIASED! I'm putting it bluntly; Hope doesn't deserve him... she left her matrimonial home with THEIR daughter after accusing Bo to his face that he'd gambled with Ciara's life during the kidnapping, when Zach died, what did she do, sort comfort in the arms of another man; yet everyone- her family/friends and her real- life supporters are all acting as if she's some poor fragile bird that's been wounded and Bo is the bad guy- he's ALWAYS been the one to fix things, ALWAYS the one ready to forget the past and move on. No one thought of how he felt after Hope left him and  once he found comfort with an old love, he's being judged along with Carly.
NBC KNOW what we want, they KNOW we have more than enough logical reasons why Bo and Carly should be together, they KNOW Carbo has a huge fan base and they KNOW it's time TO CALL IT A DAY! They have to stop this ridiculous game they are doing, making Hope the victim and Bo and Carly the guilty parties or  pushing Bo back to Hope and Carly being so unpopular in Salem. Because whether they like it or not... Carly's the woman for Bo, we know so because it's true. It's time that DAYS leave the past well behind and face facts, Bo and Carly ARE THE FUTURE. Case closed!

End of Bo & Carly? A BIG FAT NO!!!!

I don't have to say that it was a sad and very emotional day for the Carbos as we all watched Bo and Carly exchange another heart rending goodbye; Peter Reckell and the lovely Ms. Chappell giving us a memorable performance.
At first when I read the spoilers announcing this I was furious and disappointed; "Bo realises he made a mistake and breaks it off with Carly." I was like, "So... everything you promised and said to Carly was all a LIE? All she did was warm your bed???" All I could fume over for a long time was that the DAYS writers were turning Bo Brady to a fickle bastard who's been stringing a lovely woman along all this time, adding 'cruel' along with 'stupid' and 'incompetent' to their list of shortcomings.
But it wasn't like that all. Carly herself made the big gesture of breaking off their relationship and urging Bo to repair his marriage because it looked like Hope had changed for the better. While he agreed things were now different, he was still unwilling to let Carly go; how easy could it be to let go of a lady who's been more than loving and patient with him all this time and this current act of selfless compassion driving him to say 'Is it wise to make me love you more than I already do?' with love mirrored in his eyes as he looked down at her. I, who cried during the 1993 episode when they broke up the first time (it was 'Fake Bo'-Robert Kelker Kelly-  then but still very painful), was too numb to cry this time because I have NEVER SEEN a more mature, understanding and brave character than Carly Manning; her gestures and actions have always been misinterpreted by many people in Salem but if they knew her very well like Bo does, they would definitely see a woman who thinks of everyone and anyone, except herself. This move obviously gave her a lot of pain but she did it anyway, because of her great love for this man.
And considering the way poor Bo broke down after she left, showed just how much he still loved Carly and no doubt  realizing the sacrifice she'd just made. Why wouldn't any man want to hold on to a rare gem like that???

All in all, it was a very emotional break up and I'm more sad than angry. Once again, I speak with no bias; Bo and Carly love story has a lot of potential and it is a story YET to be told. For God sake, they only had 3 years- they're older now but still connected despite others reminding us that Bo and Hope had 25 years and as such deserve to stay together. I don't agree and neither do many of the Carbos; Carly made Bo happy again when he was deep in despair... twice, and they are so alike in spirit. Carly should not be used as some sort of means for Hope to re-examine her feelings for a man she left in a fit of anger and Bo should stop being portrayed as  a guilt ridden man who keeps on clinging to the past. It surprised me that Bo still expected Carly to go home with him that day; 'you and your wife have re-connected, so you can't eat your cake and have it; if you want Carly- SAY SO and move on with her,' was my opinion.
We don't know what to expect now, except that  Carly (Crystal Chappell) is going to have a new story in March. Only curiosity is making me anticipate that because I'm really disillusioned now. But thanks to encouragement from my fellow supporters, I'm still rooting for Bo and Carly. Even with that episode, we are all comforted by this thought, their relationship may be over, but their love isn't.
PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL.
