MORE TROUBLE

The final episode of  La Revancha has been posted, so please click on the link to read it. As for the rest, once again, I'm not making any promises; I'll post whatever I can dig up or remember. Now back to Tu o Nadie Snippets...  AND in response to questions on how to get it, for now, it's not available on DVD.

Max got back to the mansion very late and was informed by Ramon, who was turning off the lamps in the living room, that everyone had already gone to bed. Going up stairs, he paused outside Raquel's room. He contemplated barging in, but (mercifully) it dawned on him it wouldn't be a very good idea.

Sullenly, he walked away to his own room- leaving Tonio and Raquel to continue having sex in peace. Daniel &  Chucho were having a night out in the town; Daniel hadn't liked the sweet liquor they'd been served and wished they'd gone to where they would have been served cognac instead; Chucho was more than willing to go somewhere else. Daniel hesitated at first; it was getting very late, but Chucho insisted that he be allowed to treat him to a very good time. They then set off to the lower part of town.

Back at home,  our couple are again lying side by side under the sheets,  in post coitus mode.  Tonio marvelled over how he felt so much in love with Raquel- especially since he'd never really been in love before.   Sorry Maura.

His wife was, however, sceptical, so Tonio asked why she was in bed with him then. Raquel replied that the first time they made love, she didn't think much of it; now she wants to be sure their feelings were real. In turn, Tonio wanted to be sure about many things, but didn't want to discuss them in such an intimate moment.  But Raquel refuses to budge; she's not pleased he'd allowed Evil Max to stay under the same roof with them; it was like he was putting Vicky's needs ahead of hers. Tonio explained it wasn't the case- he just didn't want to hurt Vicky. He'd been a boy of 14, Camilla, a small girl when Vicky had married Alberto, his late father and had been a wonderful wife and mother since then. He felt he owed her a favour by tolerating the thug she'd brought to the house with her. Besides, he needed to protect Raquel, too, from public slander and the family from scandal.   And he believed her over Max. Tears filled her eyes. Raquel said she loved him very much. Tonio caressed her face.

Meanwhile, Daniel and Chucho had found their way to a strip joint and were enjoying themselves with more drinks. Chucho got up to dance with a girl, while another hesitantly walked up to Daniel and asked if he would like to dance with her. Daniel declined but asked her to sit down and talk to him. The girl was very surprised but obeyed, and when asked her name, she replied, 'Mercedes.'

Camilla discussed the evening's events with Claudio; what she'd heard Oscar say about Raquel only made her dislike her sister-in-law all the more, but Claudio warned her not to show hostility towards Raquel, as it would make Tonio very cross.

Back at the bar, Chucho and his new friend joined Daniel and Mercedes at the table and ordered more drinks, stupidly displaying the large wad of money he had with him. The waiter noticed and whispered something to a man, who happened to work there. When Chucho went to the men's room, the man followed him and, pretending to bump against him accidentally, picked his pocket and walked out. Chucho soon discovered his money was gone and got terribly hysterical. As the waiter tried to calm him down, he spotted the man about to leave and pounced on him, shouting, 'YOU STOLE MY MONEY!' and they began exchanging punches. Daniel and Mercedes tried to separate them, but the other patrons joined in, and the situation ended up in a full-scale brawl!

Next morning at the mansion, Tonio snuck into the bedroom to kiss Raquel before leaving for work. She opened her eyes and smiled at him. He told her he was leaving for work, and she chided him for not waking her earlier. He replied that he liked the idea of leaving his wife in bed, looking so beautiful in her sleep.  Raquel nestles in his arms, murmuring again that she loved him.
They cuddled until Tonio remarked that if she kept it up, he would be stuck in bed with her all day.  Unrepentant, she clung to him, saying it was exactly what she wanted. Tonio laughed and kissed her again, but gently drew away from her arms. Raquel begged him to assure her their love would never end; he firmly promised it would never end. When she asks what he'll now tell Victoria, he replies, he'll tell Mummy Vicky that he loves her.

Raquel is persistent, wanting to also know what they were going to do about the situation with Max, he told her not to worry her 'beautiful head about it' and blew her a kiss before closing the door behind him.
Downstairs, Vicky approached him to ask about his relationship with Raquel. He knows what she and Oscar thought about Raquel. He didn’t want to discuss it, but reminded Vicky she knew how it is to love someone; she had loved his late father for more than 20 years. He was in love for the first time,  Raquel was the one for him, and he wanted Victoria to know her better. As Victoria visibly softens, Tonio asks her to treat Raquel well, at least for his sake.

Kissing her goodbye, he left, not noticing Max balefully watching him from behind a beaded curtain. He comes out, calling  Tonio an idiot. Vicky scolds him, telling him not to speak that way about his brother again.  The phone rang, and he answered it. His expression is one of amazement and surprise. He informed his mother that Raquel's father was in jail; he'd been arrested at some sleazy bar. Vicky is, of course, shocked.

FINAL EPISODE OF LA REVANCHA

Renaildo was kidnapped by two old enemies, who were former business associates. Out of love for their mother, Jose Luis managed to track them down and rescued him and then left him to find a suitable hiding place as the police were still looking for him. Renaildo goes to the convent to see Mercedes for fear they might abduct her as well to get to him. She gave him a set of keys to a beach house where he could temporarily hide.

Soledad ended her relationship with the lawyer she'd been dating and she and Alejandro decide to get back together and finally get married. However when he went to break it off with his doctor girlfriend, she announced she was pregnant! Obviously a lie but it unfortunately put a dampner on any thoughts of reconciliation between the couple. Upset, Soledad decided to take some time for herself and goes to a hotel. A huricane is about to hit Miami so Alejandro rushed off to find her but by the time he arrived, the storm started and he and Soledad ended up staying there together.
When the storm died down, they volunteered to help out with the victims but unfortunately, a news crew was there covering the incident; they were shown on television- for Alejandro's enraged girlfriend to see! Meanwhile, Guillermo recieved news that while evacuating some school kids in the huricane, Rosarito was killed. Rodrigo also seeks refuge at the same beach hosue his on was hiding. He'd been stung by a scorpion and he's very ill and his mind slowly becomes unhinged as he recalled all his past misdeeds. Romelia, Jose Luis' mother finds him in this condition and later on Alejandro and Soledad also there; Alejandro immediately administered an antidote on him.
Despite Renaildo's warning to be on her guard, his enemies set a trap for Mercedes and hold her at gun point. The group try to rescue her and there's a scuffle where Renaildo took a bullet for her. As he lay dying, Jose Luis held him in his arms weeping- lamenting and regretting how destiny had introduced them as enemies instead of the brothers they actually were.
After the mess was settled, Alejandro's girlfriend counted her losses and let Alejandro go; enabling him and Soledad to finally plan their future.
As for Rodrigo, still fleeing from the police, saw the ghost of his dead son which caused him to have a massive heart attack that killed him.
Isabella, finally giving her blessing to Soledad and Alejandro , escorted her sister to the cruiser where the wedding ceremony took place, as Soledad always wanted. The same cruiser carried the married couple to their honeymoon, Romelia was told by Brenda at the party that she was carrying Renaildo's baby- her son will always live on!
The final scene showed the happy married couple gazing at the ocean, words of love exchanged between them...

SO VERY SAD!!!: MICHEAL JACKSON AND FARRAH FAWCETT

'Breaking news, Michael Jackson is dead,' were the first words my younger brother greeted me with this morning, and my reply was, 'I don't believe you.'

But as I got ready for work, it suddenly occurred to me that 'R' never pulled gags like that, so I switched on the radio in time to hear the shocking news; M.J. had died of cardiac arrest in an L. A hospital, at age 50, and I was just trying to get over the news of Charlie's Angels(the original TV series) star, Farrah Fawcett's death from anal cancer a few hours before M.J.'s. I was a fan of the show many years back, though the most I can remember about it is that Farrah(who played Jill Munroe) and the other angels used guns, unlike the ones in the movie adaptation.

Right now, here in Nigeria, radio stations are already paying tribute by playing the majority of his greatest hits, a colleague at work changed her ringtone to 'Heal the World', and another found a student sobbing over the news. I wasn't surprised, I felt like howling myself; I just sat at my desk, numbly listening to 'Liberian Girl' stored in my laptop.

It's just not possible he's dead... this was a chap whose career I've followed as a little girl, admired, loved even and never got tired of, then all of a sudden we hear he's gone and so suddenly too. As an artiste, he was very talented and original- I'm yet to see anyone who could moonwalk like him, his songs not only entertained, some of them sent out a message e.g 'HEAL THE WORLD', 'EARTH SONG', 'WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD' and 'WE ARE THE WORLD'(which he co-wrote with Lionel Ritchie), about showing humanity and changing the world for the better. As a person, he was a humanitarian who was often misunderstood and exploited; no one can forget the disgusting accusations levelled against him a few years ago.

He hasn't even been dead long, and I miss him very much already. I pray to Allah to have mercy on his soul and give his family the fortitude to bear this loss. We fans just have to console ourselves by remembering him at his best. We'll never forget him. MAY HIS SOUL (AND FARRAH'S) REST IN PERFECT PEACE. AMEN

FRESH FROM THE CAMERAS...

First, thank you all so very much for the comments and kind words, I'm so glad you enjoyed the LORENZO'S WIFE posts to the very end. I've been so busy lately to put up new posts so I hope you all weren't very cross with me.

Today's post is about two new movies that are about to hit the cinemas:

ANGELS AND DEMONS, based on Dan Brown's 2000 bestselling novel that introduced the world to Dr. Robert Langdon, who resurfaced 3 years later in THE DA VINCI CODE.

In this movie, he travels to Vatican City with an Italian scientist, whose father had been found brutally murdered in his lab- branded on the chest with the words ILLUMINATI- a word Robert(TOM HANKS) recognised as an ancient secret society that has a huge score to settle with the Roman Catholic Church.

Vittoria Vetra(ALEYET ZURER) and her late father, Leonardo had created a strange pheonomenon called 'antimatter' and the killer had taken it, to be used as a bomb. On gettind to the Vatican, they encounter even more problems and must literally race against time to solve terribly puzzling riddles in order to save precious lives.

Then there's FAST AND FURIOUS PART 4, not a prequel but an 'interquel'- it is set after the events of PART 2 but before the events of PART 3. Once again, it stars Vin Diesel as Dominic 'Dom' Toretto, now an international criminal and Paul Walker as Brian O' Connor- the police officer who allowed him to escape in Part 1- now an FBI agent.
SEE THEM BOTH @ SILVERBIRD CINEMAS AND RATE THEM!

LA MUJER DE LORENZO FINAL EPISODE!!!

 NOT SO FAST!

IF YOU'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THESE POSTS SINCE I RESUMED THEM, YOU CAN CONTINUE. IF YOU JUST GOT HERE, PLEASE READ FROM WHERE I CONTINUED BY CLICKING HERE, BEFORE READING THE GRAND FINALE...(it's better that way)

GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

Isabella got to the house as the family are gathered together for a meeting. Lorenzo arrived soon after, much to Alex's annoyance; but Lorenzo said he & Isabella had come for a business meeting with Sylvia, Nattie & Conan regarding the project. The only one missing in the room is Sylvia, who was yet to show up. Alex announced that he & Sylvia were flying to Santo Domingo in the morning for an intimate wedding. The only person who cheered at his news was Isabella, who applauded and congratulated him. However, Sylvia finally showed up, the paper Nattie had given her still in her hand, and a strange look on her pale face.
' Not so fast, Isabella- we are NOT going anywhere!' She said, looking as if she was about to explode.
Very surprised, Alex asked her why, hadn't she given her word?
'Not after seeing this!' holding out the paper, and tells everyone in the room that all the money that had been spending wasn't his savings, but payment from that woman!(pointing at Isabella)
Alex furiously asked where she'd got all that madness from.
Sylvia yelled at him, the paper in her hand is his financial information, which concides with Isabella's payments into his account. Isabella pointed out it was a gift to Alex & herself but Sylvia snapped that she needed no gifts from her. Alex tried to calm her down, insisting Isabella had only been helping him but Sylvia called him a liar & added that he hadn't changed at all- he was still the same sneaky, deceitful person.
Alex tried pleading with her; if it was the money she was angry over, he'll sell his car and they'll get married in a church in Peru but Sylvia flatly said no, she's tired of giving him chances & no longer trusted him; she wanted him out of the house and out of her life for good! Jose & Hercules also tell him to leave. Alex obeyed soberly.(Good riddance to VERY BAD RUBBISH!) Sylvia turned to Isabella & ordered her to leave her house too, she had no business there. Lorenzo, however had been a silent observer the whole time.

AN UNEXPECTED SNITCH

After Lorenzo left, the inspector told Laura that Giarcomo had been arrested for hiding her. However, Laura replied he never knew she was there; since she used to work at the boutique, she had her own set of keys to let herself in.(didn't see that coming, I admit)
Back at the office, Horsy Gloria actually confessed that Isabella had planned the whole so called financial crisis! Of course Lorenzo was absolutely furious at the deceit & betrayal and the fact that his suspicion had been correct after all; he couldn't believe he'd asked Isabella how'd she'd pay for the merchandise she'd offered to buy from him. He asked why Horsy hadn't told him, she replied Isabella had threatened her but now the fictitious crisis wouldn't work. Lorenzo told her he'll look into the whole affair & make a decision.(yeah, by firing the bitch I hope!)

Nattie & Tony heard about Giacormo's arrest and hurried to the police station. He is very pleased to see Nattie, asking if she'll continue visiting if he became an inmate, which made her laugh but she looked worried at the same time about his fate. The inspector then came in & repeated what Laura had told him; he was free to go. The three gather for a group hug.
Meanwhile, Lorenzo made a phone call to a friend of his at the bank, asking for a huge favour, an enquiry about a personal account.
When Sylvia returned home in the evening, Nattie told her Lorenzo had accidentally overheard a conversation Alex had over the phone earlier that day. Sylvia got angry & asked when would they all stop trying to change her mind about marrying Alex?
Sighing, Nattie said Sylvia could yell at her all she wanted but there was something she needed to see. She handed her cousin a piece of paper, adding she was free to do want she liked AFTER reading the contents of the paper. Sylvia takes it and reads...

TWO CHAPTERS CLOSED

Tony and Conan have a serious talk in a bar, to clarify situations. They reach a gentleman’s agreement and Conan assured him he’ll always be recognised & given his rights as the father of the baby. The animosity was finally over.

Lorenzo is informed of Laura’s arrest, Isabella also told him she’d been asked by the inspector to testify. Lorenzo remarked she could now rest easy. Isabella agreed but the only thing missing was Lorenzo’s answer to her earlier proposal. But Lorenzo replied he was going to use Sylvia’s instead, which made her fly into one of her violent tempers. Lorenzo calmly pointed out Sylvia’s contacts were very professional people, well prepared to deal with the overflowing merchandise & their proposal was very good for the company. But Isabella refused to calm down (Sylvia had spoilt her show ONCE AGAIN); she accused him of desperately being eager to ingratiate himself with his beloved Sylvia instead of thinking business wise. Lorenzo replied that his decision to follow Sylvia’s idea wasn’t influenced by his feelings towards her. Isabella is almost in tears, feeling helpless at Lorenzo’s firm decision about Sylvia’s proposal. Lorenzo pointed out that Sylvia’s contacts weren’t asking for large favors & weren’t going to swindle or defraud the company. Isabella shouted that he didn’t know what he was missing, not having her as his partner. Lorenzo insisted that Sylvia’s proposal was good, ‘why not read it before blowing it off?’
‘I’m not interested,’ was her answer and she stormed out.

Later on, Lorenzo went to the police station to make his own statement and branched at his soon-to-be EX-WIFE'S cell. Laura was ver cynical towards him; she believed he'd come to gloat over her downfall but he denied it. She insisted that she was'nt at all finished- she was still going to carry out her revenge on Isabella. He pointed out it would take a long time because the charges levelled on her were very serious. But she's not discouraged at all, she had a lot of patience to wait until that time came to definitely carried it out. Lorenzo urged her to repent all the evil she'd committed but she's defiant. ' Never.' she snapped.
'Bye then.' said Lorenzo.
'Goodbye, Lorenzo.' she replied, unemotionally.(I think she'd finally realised their marriage was really over)

THE FUGITIVE IS FINALLY CAUGHT

Isabella pretended to be very offended. He had it all wrong, she was only trying to be helpful- it was all she set out to do since she returned to Peru. Lorenzo bitterly reminded her how she’d tried to be ‘helpful’ when she destroyed his happy relationship with Sylvia with those doctored photos. Isabella hotly replied that she didn’t regret what she did because Sylvia probably only had an affair with him just to make Alex jealous, after all she’s now back with him. Lorenzo coldly told her he’ll have to review everything before informing her of his decision (he wasn’t planning to agree). Isabella pointed out she had the right to be a permanent member of the company after putting so much work and capital for him. Once again, Lorenzo said he’ll think about it; Isabella replied, ‘Don’t take too long about it.’
Alex wasn’t pleased that Sylvia was going to Paracas Textiles to see Lorenzo- especially after Sylvia refused to let him accompany her (for fear of him and Lorenzo getting into a fight). Alex warns her not to tell him about the trip as he might find a so-called business excuse to delay her.
Laura phoned Isabella again, asking her if she’d chosen a coffin yet as she’s still not done with her. Isabella unwisely tried to aggravate her further by asking if she’d heard the good news- she and Lorenzo were finally engaged to be married, but Laura of course knew it was a lie; she said so, laughing derisively. But Isabella insisted it was true and she planned on bringing the party to Laura’s prison cell. Laura again said she was lying. E.I replied, Thanks to Laura’s harassment and threats, Lorenzo had given her his shoulder to cry on, he’d been a true gentleman, so kind and generous. Laura is now filled with silent rage, then threatened again, ‘I’m going to kill you, Isabella.’
E.I replied, ‘well, it seems all you’re doing so far is killing boredom since all you’ve been doing is making these phone calls. Laura warned her she was closer than E.I thought. E.I hung up the phone.
Conan and Mimi meet; she and Tony have decided to call off the wedding. They would however always be friends and he’ll still be a major part of his child’s life. They finally admit their feelings for each other and seal it with a kiss.
Sylvia got to Paracas Textiles and handed over the business proposal signed by the Gamarra factory owners to Lorenzo. They were more than prepared to help Lorenzo out by getting his merchandise distributed to different stores; all they asked was 5% of the profits and his approval. Lorenzo thanked her and promised to inform Isabella in the next meeting. Sylvia replied she’ll send Nattie & Conan in her place since she would be going on vacation with Alex. She refused to say where when Lorenzo asked her, abruptly cut him off when he said there was something she needed to know and left, much to his frustration (but don’t give up, my guy). Isabella is informed and is of course very negative (and inwardly angry that Sylvia had brought Lorenzo a solution); she said that Sylvia and the Gamarra people didn’t know anything about big business. However she didn’t have time to discuss it further with him as she had an appointment, and left the office.
Hercules is amazed to see Conan & Mimi come in, hand in hand. They tell him their news.
At a field,  Isabella encountered Laura who appeared again with her gun, laughing evilly and aimed it at Isabella. But before she could pull the trigger, the police inspector (in charge of the case) arrived with several men and immediately disarmed her. It had all been an arranged trap; Isabella had a bullet-proof vest under the red coat she had on! Laura (as you can all imagine) didn’t go quietly at all; she was completely hysterical- screaming at the top of her lungs and kicking out vigorously as she was dragged away. The inspector commended Isabella for being brave enough to carry out the plan but she pointed out that the bullet proof vest wouldn’t have saved her if Laura had decided to shoot her in the head. The inspector agreed but they had to run the risk in order to stop the constant harassment and threats once and for all.

THE PENNY'S FINALLY DROPPED

Lorenzo is not pleased at what Isabella did, walking on dark parking lots alone with Laura on the loose. She told him she’d only gone shopping for new clothes and underwear but promised never go out alone again. Giacormo was furious with Laura for going out of the boutique; she ran the risk of getting caught, Laura on the other hand was hell bent on killing Isabella before she left Peru for good. Alex showed up again to see Isabella, who jumped out of her skin in fright, thinking it was Laura. The shameless fool wanted more money, he was spending more than he thought and wanted to buy an expensive wedding gown for Sylvia as well as the honeymoon trip to Europe. Isabella wanted Alex to take Sylvia away, far away from Lorenzo for good but wondered if Sylvia would agree to leave Peru.

Nattie and Sylvia are very surprised when Alex returned to the factory with 2 plane tickets, they were going to fly abroad and get married on a beach, on Sunday-a moonlight ceremony-much to Nattie’s dismay.
Later on she phoned Lorenzo to let him know, he couldn’t believe the wedding was going to happen so soon. Isabella suddenly interrupted the phone conversation, as she had a very important business proposal which will save the present situation and Sylvia would still get her payment; she, Isabella, would buy the entire merchandise, to his amazement. He asked her how would she get so much money to pay for it, she replied her late husband had left her a huge estate. But, she reminded him of the last clause in her contract; as she was putting in a very large amount of money, he would have to give her 51% share of Paracas Textiles, which was fair and reasonable. Lorenzo was furious and incredulous, his eyes finally opened. He said, ‘Did you plan this crisis so that it would be up to you to save the company, and I'll have to stay with you?’

ALEX PUTS HIS FOOT IN IT...BIG TIME!

Alex met with the person he spoke to over the phone; it turned out to be Evil Isabella. He told her he was planning a European honeymoon with Sylvia thus needed more money; Isabella isn’t pleased with this but agreed to write him a check. Alex asked her about Paracas Textiles’ financial crisis but Isabella confided that there wasn’t really a financial crisis; it was well invented by her in order for her ending up as the company’s saviour and Lorenzo would have no other choice but to ‘co-operate’ with her. Alex laughed, praising her. Neither of them noticed someone they mutually knew was watching them… the very LAST PERSON they would want to see them together…
Sylvia discussed Mimi’s wedding with an unhappy Conan; she asked him about his feelings towards her. He said he loved Lysette but it wasn’t the same way he loved Mimi, whom he’d known since they were children. Sylvia advised him to think over the matter very carefully or he’d lose both girls’ friendship. Isabella is on her way to her car when Laura appeared; brandishing a gun, but the hired bodyguard suddenly came up and dragged Isabella to safety. Laura vowed she wouldn’t escape her next time.
The rap wedding of Mimi and Tony begins, Tony in a simple suit and Mimi holding large sunflowers; unhappy Conan wasn't attending along with their friends. But he suddenly showed up and she joyfully hugged him, Tony watching. The young minister begins the ceremony and asked if Mimi will take Tony as her husband and she said yes. But when Tony is asked, he doesn't reply... to Lysette's dismay.
He and Mimi have a little talk afterwards...
Mimi admitted to Giacormo that having a baby for Tony wasn’t a valid reason to get married; she didn’t love him like before. Giacormo was glad to see that she was mature enough to finally realise that.
Lorenzo met with Nattie and told her he’d overheard Alex’s conversation over the phone when he’d come to see Sylvia; later he’d seen him looking very cosy with Isabella in a bar. Nattie asked if he suspected they were lovers. Lorenzo wasn’t very sure since they acted like they were best friends but Nattie scornfully pointed out they probably only did that because they were in public. Lorenzo told Nattie they were both going to do something about this strange development.
Alex returned home with large shopping bags and E.P immediately lamented about the crisis at Paracas Textiles; how she’d made a huge error agreeing with Sylvia - she was going to lose a lot of money. But Alex (from what he’d heard from Isabella) consoled her; the matter would soon be resolved as there were a lot of things Sylvia & Lorenzo didn’t know about but warned her not to say so to either of them. His mother asked how he was so sure; he cheekily replied that he had a crystal ball.

ALEX PUTS HIS FOOT IN IT

The police search the boutique while Laura is foolishly about making another threatening call to Isabella but surprisingly, they leave without finding her. Lorenzo confab with Isabella about the sticky situation; he asked her to call her other European friends who just might be able to help them unload the merchandise.
Hercules and José feel uncomfortable at being at the ‘rap wedding’ since there’ll be mostly young people there. Mimi suddenly has second thoughts about marrying Tony but changed her mind immediately; she still wanted to go on with it. Laura is more nervous after her narrow escape from the police. Giacormo has money ready for her to leave but she stubbornly refused to go without talking to Isabella first, much to Giacormo’s exasperation.
At Sylvia’s factory, Alex is on the phone, agreeing to meet with someone. He’s furious when Lorenzo entered, shouting that this was the last straw. Ignoring him, Lorenzo asked to speak in private with Sylvia but she stood her ground, she kept no secrets from Alex. Lorenzo quietly informed her on what happened; it would not only affect their project, he would have to declare bankruptcy and might lose his house and other assets unless Isabella’s other European friends could place orders for the merchandise that had cost him a large fortune to produce in the first place. Alex made the mistake of spitefully saying he was very glad this had happened to him. A very shocked Sylvia chastised him into silence, asking him if he actually knew the gravity of the situation. Turning to Lorenzo, consoled him in soft tones and promised to help him look for clients. Not pleased at this, Alex demanded that she sued Lorenzo for breach of contract since he’d approached her with the project in the first place and warned Lorenzo not to use his business problems to ruin their wedding plans. Sylvia however was very sharp with him- she said it wasn’t the appropriate time to talk about that and prepared to meet with the other clothing factory owners in the area in the hope they could be of help.

AS IF LORENZO WAS'NT DEPRESSED ENOUGH...

Lorenzo tells Isabella that Sylvia was going to marry Alex. Pretending to be sympathetic, she asked why was that so but he sullenly refused to discuss it further with her.
Later on, he visits Sylvia at the factory(refusing to give up) to make sure Laura hadn't harmed her in any way and discussed her decision to be with Alex instead of him. She replied that she was the sort of person who thought things over carefully before making a decision and the only sort of relationship she could have with Lorenzo now was a business one. Lorenzo insisted he didn't want her to get hurt by Alex again, but she assured him it won't happen since Alex really loved her.
Tony is still adamant that Conan mustn't show up at his wedding; as the father of the child he had the right to decide who should be present or not(some husband you'll turn out to be).
The police arrived at the boutique to question Giarcomo about his friendship with Laura; he informed them they'd stopped being friends a while back.
Isabella called an urgent meeting; she informed Lorenzo and Horsy that her Italian contact, Estefano, had been arrested for tax evasion, thus the order has been cancelled! Lorenzo wondered what on earth was he going to do with all that mechandise in the stores, gave Horsy some orders and left the room. Isabella is pleased, the plan was shaping up more than nicely; now she had acheived what she really wanted- Paracas Textiles being bankrupt. Horsy asked , would'nt it affect her too? But Isabella informed her that Estefano's company was fictitious all along(which explained why Orlando could'nt find it on the Internet & why she was so uptight about her being the only one to speak to Estefano over the phone), now she was free to innocently act the part of Lorenzo's saviour.(FIRST CLASS BITCH!)

RING THE ALARM !!! WE'RE BACK TO LA MUJER DE LORENZO!

I am finally going to fufil my promise to my loyal visitors- which is finish posting the episodes of La Mujer De Lorenzo. Ever since MBI spoilt my show, I've been agonising over how I'll get material but all of a sudden, I was able to, RIGHT TO THE GRAND ENDING!(it was'nt easy at all).
NOW, TO CONTINUE FROM WHERE I STOPPED...
Sylvia is still very angry with her cousins for tricking her and Alex, so that Lorenzo could be alone with her. Conan tells her not to trust Alex but Nattie suddenly points out perhaps Alex has changed afterall; which her brother derisively laughs at, Alex could never never change and wonders when his cousin would finally open her eyes.
Laura had asked Jose to convince Isabella to come and see her and she waits... a hidden gun with her. However, Jose foolishly brings Sylvia with him, as he wants both his daughters to make peace once and for all. Laura is outraged and loudly insults him, she'd wanted him to bring Isabella, not Syliva! As for Syliva, who is of course very shocked, asked her Dad if he's already called the police but the old man protested that Laura was full of remorse for what she did,(STUPIDITY obviously runs in THIS family...) which of course Sylvia doesn't believe and cannot understand why her father is so naive. The 'repentant' Laura instead pulled the gun out and pointed at them, ordering them to leave. Outside, Jose suddenly developed a pain in his chest.Sylvia still wants to call the police but he begs her not to, but she should call Lorenzo instead. Lorenzo & E.I are in the office, discussing business when the phone rings, it's Laura. At first she doesn't speak then she hurls abuse and more threats at E.I. Lorenzo assures her they'll hire a bodyguard to protect her 24-7.
After Sylvia tells her cousins what happened, Conan calls Lorenzo and informs him- so that he and Isabella will be on their guard. Laura fled the hotel to the boutique and begged and begged Giarcomo to help her for old times' sake- she needed a place to hide until she's able to obtain a passport to leave the country. Soft hearted Giarcomo agreed to assist her.Jose's chest pain lessened and Sylvia cheered him up by announcing that she'd agreed to marry Alex, much to everyone's surprise, including Alex's. He asked when they would get married and Alex joyfully repiled, ' As soon as possible.' However, Sylvia reminded him that they had'nt yet set a definite date.Giacormo gives Laura some food and tells her Sylvia and Alex were back together but Laura is not in the least bit interested. She asked him to convince Isabella to meet her later in the boutique- she wanted to apologise so that all charges will be dropped,(apologising with a gun?) but Giarcomo flatly replied he was doing no such thing, all he was going to do was arrange for a passport for her so that she could cross the border and rebuild her life. Laura insisted but he said no again, she only wanted revenge and besides, there was no way Isabella will agree after the attempt on her life.

MORE VALENTINE'S DAY KISSES

To round off the Valentine period, I decided to add more memorable kisses, this time from telenovelas.
I'll start with our favorite telenovela couple; Silvia Navarro & Sergio Basanez. The chemistry between these two is so high that they've done 4 telenovelas together(Catalina y Sebastian, Calles De Novias, Cuando Seas Mia & La Heredera). This pic is from LA HEREDERA, the last one they starred in together in 2004.

Next we have Gabriella Spanic & Fernando Colunga in LA USURPADORA, about a man who fell in love with his wife's twin sister.

This one is from the remake of the 1976 Brazilian telenovela, ESCRAVA ISAURA, about a white skinned slave, Isaura, whose lover Alvaro(an abolitionist) fought tooth and nail to get her freedom from her evil and lustful master.

This compilation won't be complete without the very first telenovela to hit our screens, a kiss between Marianna and Luis Alberto(Veronica Castro and Rogelio Guerra) in THE RICH ALSO CRY.

And last but not least, we have Antonio and Raquel(Andres Garcia and Lucia Mendez) in
TU O NADIE,(NO ONE BUT YOU) whose episodes are currently being posted in this blog.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY- MEMORABLE KISSES.

Yes, another Happy Valentine's to all the folks out there, the season of love, presents and general soppiness(joke!). Since Monday, I've seen nothing but Valentine cards, fake roses, perfumes and choclates in most shops in my area and TV and Radio stations playing love songs, in particular songs by the ever romantic and sensitive BoyzIIMen(my favorite male group, by the way). My day however was spent eating chocolates while reading some of my collection of Barbara Cartland novels. Boring and disappointing at first thought but it gave me the idea for this post. I watch a lot of movies, mostly romantic comedies, and I've seen more than my fair share of memorable kisses over the years and I decided to compile some here to commemorate this occasion.

Now the first one(left) is between Humphrey Bogart & Audrey Hepburn in SABRINA(1954), about a workaholic and humourless millionare who ended up falling in love with his chauffeur's beautiful daughter, Sabrina Fairchild. The movie was so good that in 1995, a remake was made, this time starring Harrison Ford & Julia Ormond(below).

The scene I like best was after Linus realised he was in love with Sabrina, he ran from a meeting, obtained her address from her father, got on a plane to Paris and arrived at her doorstep with his confession.

Next memorable kiss is the one between Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, where Captain Von Trapp sealed his declaration of love with a kiss in the moonlit gazebo. After all this time, I have'nt gotten tired of that scene, SO ROMANTIC.

And of course, there's the one between the world's favorite couple, ROMEO & JULIET, (played here by Leonardo Di Capiro & Claire Danes) about two soul mates from warring families who ended up getting married after the night they'd first met but became victims of circumstances, poor things- but still a strong symbol of unbreakable love.

This one is between James Bond & his fiancee, Tracy Di Vincenzo in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. WHAT??! you may say, but it's true... after having strings of girlfriends here and there, in this movie, James Bond(played by George Lazenby, and only once) decided he finally wanted to settle down, so he asked the beautiful & stubborn Tracy to marry him, after telling her he loved her. What happened in the end? Watch the movie!

This one is from DANIELLE STEEL'S JEWELS, about a disillusioned American girl who vowed never to marry again after a VERY bad experience but ended up getting swept off her feet by a handsome English duke while on holiday. After much resistance, she said 'yes' when he asked her to marry him. It's my favorite Danielle Steel story.

I JUST LOVE interracial relationships and this kiss is one I'll never forget, between Whitney Huston & Kevin Costner in THE BODYGUARD, about an aloof bodyguard who completely broke all his rules.

The world's closest couple next to Romeo & Juliet is ROBIN HOOD & LADY MARIAN(this version played by Michael Praed & Judi Trott), they were very much in love, inseperable, equally tough and stubborn but complete soul mates. In one episode of this version, Marian was shot by an arrow and knowing Robin's heart would be completely broken if she died, his guardian, Herne The Hunter brought her back to life.

The classic story JANE EYRE, about an orphaned governess who ended up falling in love with her student's father, has MANY versions, this one is the 2006 one, (starring Toby Stevens & Ruth Wilson), where Mr. Rochester asked Jane to marry him, just when she thought he was planning to marry an aristocratic lady. Their first kiss took place under a chestnut tree in the garden.

Well, that's that. for you to enjoy. For those of you who might ask why is'nt there any screen kisses from Nollywood movies? Well, answer no. 1, I couldnt get any and no. 2, Nigerian actors are complete PRUDES; besides RMD, I'm yet to see a Nollywood actor kiss his female co-star as she's REALLY meant to be kissed. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

FOR NOW...

Backed up by her husband, Raquel told her own side of the story. Max, on the other hand, glared at her for her 'betrayal'. Tired of Camilla's crass remarks, Tonio took Raquel back upstairs. Oscar cannot understand why Tonio insisted on trusting Raquel. Upstairs, Tonio and Raquel get into a fight; she's against not taking immediate action towards Max and his lies about her.  She was about to go downstairs and confront him face-to-face, but Tonio harshly stopped her from doing so.

Very hurt, she entered her room and locked herself in. Ashamed, Tonio knocked and knocked, but she wouldn't open the door for him; instead she wept.
Downstairs, he informed everyone present that he believed totally in Raquel, and he knew very well that Max really tried to kill him; he more or less admitted it on the night he'd first confronted him about it. Max boldly confirmed he'd said that, but it had been only to 'bug' him. Oscar restrained Tonio, who was about to make a move to hit the bastard. Martha comes in, but as no one tells her anything, she went upstairs in a huff.

Ramon came to remind Tonio that Chucho was still waiting for him, and he left to attend to him. Martha went to see her sister, asking why everyone was acting so strangely, and Raquel told her what happened, tearfully feeling it wasn't a good idea to have slept with Tonio, when he still had suspicions about her. In the study, Tonio handed Chucho a thick wad of cash (by the way, accepting money for saving a life is VERY TACKY) and was thanked profusely.

Tonio returned to the living room, coldly told Max he could continue living in the mansion, BUT must stay away from his wife,   and went upstairs. Victoria gave her son very strong advice, which he sulkily listened to before walking out on her.

Max goes to meet his accomplice, Luis (one of the drivers), at his quarters. Or... I don't know, it's a huge estate. They talk about how there would be no way for Tonio to easily find the judge. As for the manager of the building where he rented an apartment, she will not recognise any photo of him, since she never saw him physically; Luis had arranged the lease and everything. Tonio may be as smart as most people say he is, but he has yet to outsmart Max. For now, they will lie low until the dust settles, then come up with another plan. Max is angry and bitter; Raquel was his, yet ended up falling in love with Tonio and giving herself to him. However, he was still going to have her no matter what and punish her like she deserves, for betraying him. Luis is promised 25 million pesos once they reach their goal, but Luis wants 50 million instead.

Daniel and Chucho, wearing one of Daniel's shirts, leave the house to go to town.
Tonio is angry and bitter at the unresolved issue; he goes to see Raquel, who is talking with Martha. After she leaves, Tonio asks Raquel if she left his room last night because of Max banging on the door. She tells him what happened and how Max called her a tramp and a fool. She now regrets sleeping with him, because how could he say he loves her if he doubts her? Tonio said that due to what he's been through, it's only logical that he still has some doubts.

Raquel is more upset. She didn't know how to convince him she wasn't Max's accomplice.  Did he honestly think she would actually conspire to kill him?
Tonio shook his head slowly, then pulled her into his arms. Tearfully, Raquel wrapped her arms around him.

It's NOT True!

Watched by a very nervous Raquel, Tonio told his stepmother the whole story, to her amazement and disbelief. She asked, 'Raquel isn't your wife then?'

But Tonio said Raquel WAS his wife by law, because the marriage certificate bearing their signatures wasn't revoked after 30 days, and they were very much in love now.
Mummy Vicky is very upset; she refused to believe that her own flesh and blood was capable of killing anyone, even though he and Tonio never got along as boys, and it still didn't give him the right to bar him from the house; he's lived here since he was a boy. Ramon walked in to remind Tonio that Chucho was still waiting for him. Tonio tried to calm a weeping Vicky, but she's far too upset at what she'd just heard. Raquel is horrified to see Evil Max suddenly enter, with Dr Oscar, pretending to be justifiably outraged at his unfair treatment, and Oscar restrains him when he makes a move at Tonio, pretending to be shocked at his accusation. He suggested they straighten everything out in the study. Tonio

consoled Raquel, assuring her everything would turn out well in their favour. Raquel was very worried about what Max would say about her and what he might still do to Tonio. He told her to remove all negative thoughts from her head. Kissing her, he left for the study.

There, Max maintained he had no idea what Tonio and Raquel were accusing him of (the man has a lot of nerve, I swear!) and flatly denied everything. Oscar and Mummy Victoria sided with him, even after Tonio poured out everything Raquel had told him and the little he had found out.

Max strongly suggested it was Raquel who was the guilty one, suddenly coming to pass herself off as his wife (once again, what did Raquel see in that idiot in the first place??), but Tonio coldly replied that he trusted his wife completely- He, Max, was the culprit behind the plot.

At the guest bungalow, Chucho and Daniel discuss where to hang out for the evening once Tonio gives Chucho the money as promised. Camilla narrates what Vicky had told her and Claudio to Maura, although Claudio had forbidden her to. Later on, Camilla goes to the Mansion and is informed by Ramon that Tonio was in a meeting with Vicky, Oscar and Max. Camilla tried to eavesdrop but got interrupted by a very surprised Chucho, who wondered why she was listening at the door. She sharply told him to go away and went back to listen. Oscar pointed out that Tonio was upsetting Vicky with the allegations, and he needed sufficient proof before accusing him. Before Camilla could listen to more, Tonio opened the door and saw her. Ignoring her false greeting, he went upstairs, where Raquel was waiting. He told her that Max denied everything, to her frustration. She asked him what they could do, and he said nothing, at least until they could locate the judge who had officiated the civil wedding. Raquel dreaded the idea of still living under the same roof with Max; Tonio assured her he would always protect her, managing to coax a smile from her.

Camilla tried in vain to find out from Vicky and Oscar what the meeting was about, but they and Max maintained a stony silence. Slightly comforted, Raquel now wondered how Vicky and the others would treat her. Once again, Tonio assured her of his protection and took her downstairs with him.

ETTA JAMES VS BEYONCE KNOWLES

Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z, has had beefs with fellow artistes in the past but who would have expected former lead singer of Destiny's Child to actually have someone badmouth her publicly all of a sudden?
The lady doing this is legenday soul singer Etta James, who happens to be the original singer of the hit song AT LAST. Apparently, she took offence when Beyonce sang it at the inaugural ball to President Obama and the First Lady's first dance that night, and so beautifully too. After that, Ms. James expressed her fury towards poor Beyonce for singing her song!
At first, I figured Ms. James was justifiably pissed off because maybe Beyonce sang AT LAST without permission. I don't even know what terms Celine Dion had to meet before adding that same song in the track listing of her 2002 album A NEW DAY HAS COME; and it would'nt be the first time she would sing her own version of someone else's song- like Jennifer Rush's POWER OF LOVE or Tina Turner's RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH- not that I'm critising her.
But while I was at Tantalizer's last Thursday, I saw this beef being talked about on CNN & an old footage of Beyonce singing AT LAST to Etta herself, as a tribute; the 2 women hugged and kissed at the end. Now it's 'I can't stand Beyonce' and something about 'whupping her ass', plus actually adding President Obama himself to her black list. She said and I quote, 'He maybe you president but he ain't mine.'
I'm sure Beyonce meant no harm and disrespect and I thought she should apologise to Ms. James to keep the peace but I really don't like what she said about the President, it's not like he requested for the song, according to CNN. Now, I just got word that Ms. James has made an annoucement that all she'd said was a joke. Considering she said rather nasty things about 2 very popular people, one of them who'd just made history- one can't help but consider that to be a very, very expensive joke, would'nt you say?
Personally, I don't consider it a joke nor her sudden apology sincere.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA!!!

Happy New Year to all my guests and thank you for the words of encouragement – I promise to continue keeping the flag flying. I’m more than happy making this my first blog post of 2009 and nobody needs 3 guesses; it’s because of the historical day millions of people around the world witnessed- the swearing in of the 44th President of the United States; President Barack Obama. After years of slavery, racial killing, segregation, inequality, the struggles the soldiers of change faced in the Civil Rights Movement, the prophetical words in the song, ‘WE SHALL OVERCOME,’ and Dr. Martin Luther King’s legendary speech, ‘I HAVE A DREAM’- has finally, finally come to pass and I can’t stop praising Almighty God for making this happen. God is Merciful and His time is the best, and with that in mind, I never never stopped believing He had a huge thing in store for the black race- something that will make us stand tall and gradually put an end to racism and make Dr. King’s dream of racial harmony a reality. And I mentioned in one post that after watching HEAD OF STATE, I firmly believed what happened in the film would one day one to pass, in spite of the negative comments from the more cynical members of my family. At the announcement of the election results and the swearing-in, I kept wiping my eyes with a Kleenex, out of joy and thinking about the efforts of the Civil Rights Leaders back in the bitter days of segregation.
Now we can finally say that Dr. King, Medger Evers, Malcolm X and all the other Civil rights leaders that were assassinated during the struggle didn’t die in vain(May their souls rest in peace) , for their dreams has finally come to pass, probably far more than they dared dream of.
May President Obama do both his birth country and ancestral country proud and I PRAY his administration will be a peaceful and prosperous one. AMIN.
Back to the home front, I know everyone is very disappointed about La Mujer de Lorenzo- I am as well but I promise to search everywhere for info on it- we are all more than anxious to find out what became of Laura and Evil Isabella and how Lorenzo was able to win back Sylvia. But I should remind you there'll be more posts on TU O NADIE, it's a very intersting telenovela as well, so pls turn to the blog and get more of its episodes.
PEACE OUT.
